In the name of God Amen I Stith THOMPSON of the County of Washington and State 
[corner is torn off but presume it reads State of Kentucky] Being very Sick and 
weak in body but of Perfect mind memory do call to mind Mortality of my Body 
and Knowing it is appointed to all man once to die do make this my last will 
and Testament that is first of all recommend my Soult unto the hand of almighty 
God who gave it and my Body to the Earth from whence it was taken to buried in 
Christian ____ at the discretion of my Executors and what worldy goods God has 
given me I give & bequeath in the following manner

First I decree that all my lawful Debts be Paid out of my estate by my 
Executors.

Secondly I will that all my worldly goods and Chattles house and lands remina 
in the possession of my beloved wife Elizabeth & be disposed of and Bequeathed 
after the following maner that is 

first I give and bequeath unto my beloved son John THOMPSON an Horse or mare 
worth fifteen Pounds to be delivered to him the fifteenth day of April next 
insuing this date.

Secondly I give & Bequeath unto each of my seven sons to wit Reves, Stith, 
William, Charles, James, Sterling, Stephen Thompson Shall Severally come to the 
age of twenty one and an horse or mare worth fifteen pounds  ____ (very dark) 
out of my estate by my Executors.

lastly my will & desire is that if my beloved wife Elizabeth shoudl marry or at 
her death my Estate shall Be equally divided amongst all my children  that is 
to say Dodridge, Richard, John, Reaves, Stith, William, Charles, James, 
Sterling and Stephen THOMPSON and I do hereby disanal make void & of none 
effect any will or wills by me heretofore made constituting satisfying and 
confirming this and this only my last will and Testament appointing and 
choosing John DAVIS, John CALDWELL, John THOMPSON and Richard THOMPSON 
Executors to this my last will and Testament.  in Witness whereof I have here 
unto set my hand & seal this fifth day of November one Thousand Seven hundred 
and ninety five.

At a County Court held for Washington the 7th day of January 1796 Proved by the 
oaths of John McLAUGHLIN, Adam ROWE Subscribing Witnesses thereto and ordered 
to be Recorded and on the motion of John DAVIS and Richard THOMPSON two of the 
Executors therin named who made Oath and Executed and acknowledged Bond as the 
law directs a Certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probate therof in due 
form leave being __ded John CALDWELL & John THOMPSON the other Executors to 
join in the probate when they think proper
