In the name of God Amen I HENRY NEWMAN of the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky being 
sound both of Body and mind but knowing the uncertainty of life I do make this my last will 
and Testament hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. In the first place it is my 
will and wish that my six children namely RACHEL McGAUGHY, ELIZABETH THOMPSON, NANCY CISSEL, 
REBECCA HAGAN, THOMAS NEWMAN and EZEKIEL NEWMAN each of them have one dollar apiece which is 
to be paid to them out of my Estate by my Executors after my death in addition to the portion 
I have already given each of them. 

It is my will and wish that my daughter MARGARET NEAL have one Hundred Dollars to be paid to 
her out of my Estate by my Executor after my death in addition to what I have already given her. 
It is my will and wish that my son SIMEON NEWMAN have the tract of land on which I now live with
the following reserve (towit) I reserve twenty three acres and ten pole for a purpose hereafter
to be named; But it is to be clearly understood that it is my will and wish that my wife FANNEY
NEWMAN is to have and possess the whole of the land now in cultivation including the buildings 
together with liberty of getting fuel and timber off the wood land of said tract for the support
of the farm during her natural life or widowhood with the following exceptions (towit):

my son SIMEON NEWMAN to have two thirds of the fruit of the orchard after my death, and at the 
death or marriage of my wife FANNY NEWMAN the said farm to descend to my said son SIMEON NEWMAN
and his heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to my said wife FANNY NEWMAN the whole of my 
personal Estate together with all the debts that are due me by note or otherwise all of which 
she may dispose of as she may think proper after paying my just debts. 

I give and bequeath to my three daughters namely MARTHA CISSEL, AGNES NEWMAN and MATILDA NEWMAN 
my Negro woman JANE and her three girl children until said slaves are divided and when it 
becomes necessary in the opinion of my wife FANNY NEWMAN that a division of said slaves take 
place amongst the said three daughters MARTHA, AGNES and MATILDA it is also my wish that in 
case of the death of either of my last named daughters MARTHA, AGNES or MATILDA without an heir 
then and in that case the legacy of the deceased is to ascend or descend to the Survivor or 
Survivors of said three Daughters.

I give and bequeath to my son HENRY NEWMAN Twenty three acres and ten poles of land previously 
reserved being a tract on which I live and bounded by a sugar tree on the Frankfort road and 
the line of THOMAS NEWMAN. I also give and bequeath to my said son James Henry NEWMAN my negro 
Boy GEORGE to him and his heirs but it is my wish that the should the said JAMES HENRY NEWMAN 
die without an heir then the Tract of twenty three acres and ten poles of land to revert back 
to my son Simeon NEWMAN and the Negro boy GEORGE to revert back to my three daughters MARTHA, 
AGNES and MATILDA or whichsoever of them may survive him. Lastly I appoint my wife FANNY NEWMAN
and my son THOMAS NEWMAN Executors to this my last will and Testament. In Testimony whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 30th day of March 1833.

Recorded 5 Day October 1835 Spencer Co. Court ... and on the motion of Fanny and THOMAS NEWMAN 
the executors therein named who made oath thereto and together with SIMEON NEWMAN, W. P. 
(I think- the W. is very hard to read) CLARKE, their securities entered into and acknowledged 
a Bond in the penalty of $5000 Conditioned as the law directs Certificate is granted to the 
said FANNY NEWMAN and THOMAS NEWMAN for obtaining Probat of said Will in due form.
