Spencer Co. WIll Book A p. 48 

In obedience to an order of the Spencer County Court appointing GEORGE WELLS, JOHN H. MILLER 
and PRESTLEY BRIDWELL commissioners to allot to GEORGE C. BRISCOE his part of the Land and 
Slaves which his father JOHN M. BRISCOE Dec'd possessed of towit on the 15th July 1826 and 
made partition as in following manner to wit:

all the Slaves we valued to Seventeen hundred and fifty five dollars we then divided them 
into five lotts:

first Lott HAGEN $350

second lott NANCY at $350

third lott JENNAY and WINNY $375

fourth lott ABRAM and HARRIET at $375

fifth JUDY at $250

and lotts being cast GEORGE drew NANCY which amounting to his part and (?) to one 
dollar also lotts being cast for the Lands and GEORGE C. BRISCOE drew for the Lott out 
of the numbers which ahs been laid of of formerly SIMON PRIORS and is now of record. 
Given under our hands this 15 July 1826.
