Shelby County & State of Kentucky

In the Name of God amen I William NATION Being in said County & State Being Low 
of Health of Boddy But in Perfect Mind and memory thankes be to god Calling 
unto mind the Mortality of My Boddy Knowing that it is once appointed for all 
men to dye Make and Ordain this my Last Will & Testimony tat is to say 
principley and first of all I Give and reccommend my Soul into the hand of 
almity God that gave it and My Boddy I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a 
decent christian maner at the Discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but 
at the general Resurrection I shall recover the Same a gain by the mighty power 
of God and as tuching such Wordly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless 
me in this Life I Give, divise and Dispose of the Same in the following manner 
and from. [form]

first I Reccommend my Debts to be Paid out of my Estate.

second I give to Milly My Eldest Daughter three dollars to be raised out of my 
estate

third I Give to Elizabeth my Second daughter and to William Alexander NATION my 
Sone all my lands moveable Equally to be Divided Betwixt them these my Sole 
Executors By tham freely to be Possessed and injoyed as this my Last Will and 
testament and no other   Adam HOSTETTLER and Alexander McCLAIN  I appoint to be 
my Administrators as Witness my hand and seal presence of us in the year of our 
Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Nineteen  November the 22nd.

July Court 1821
This day came Alexander McCLAINE and produced in Court a writing to be the Last 
Will and Testament of William NATION deceased Whereupon William MILARUM/MILDRUM 
one of the subscribing witnesses to said Writing being duly sworn states that 
the writing was signed sealed acknowledged & delivered for this last will and 
Testament & that he believes that the said NATION was in his perfect senses and 
of sound disposing mind & memory at the dime of doing the same and on motion of 
the said Alexander McCLAIN and it appearing to the sattisfaction of the 
Courtthat John McCLAIN the other witness of the s'd writing as a resident of 
Scott County & State of Indianna It is ordered that the Commission do___ 
directed to the presiding judge of Any Court of law notary public mayor or 
Chief Magistrate of any City Town or Corporation in said Scott County Indiana 
emproving & requesting him to take an Oaththe attestation of said John McCLAIN 
the other subscribing witness to s'd writing and the same so taken to send 
sertified to this Court as the Law directs and further proceedings herein on 
accound for s'd proof.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky to the presiding of any Court of Law mayor or 
Chief Magistrate of any City Town or Corporation in Scott County State of 
Indiana, Greeting.  Whereas It is represented to the county court of Shelby 
that John McCLAIN a resident of said Scott County isa subscribing witness to 
the anexed writing purporting to be the Last will & Testament of William NATION 
dec'd Now Know Ye that reposing special trust & Confidence in You in diligently 
Examining writngs aforesaid, do authorise and request you that at Such time and 
place as you shall appoint you do Call & Cause the witnesses aforesaid to Come 
before you and being first duly sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty god do 
You examine him delightfully & faithfully tuching the premaces & his 
examinations so Taken do you signed certifyed under your hand & et al enclosed 
to our said Court together With this writ.  Witness Jas. L. WHITAKER clerk of 
said Court this 20th day of July 1821 & 30th year of the Commonwealth.
