Shelby Co. Will Book 4 p. 73
In the name of God Amen.  The following items Contains the Last will & Testament of John 
McCORMACK Being aged & Infirm But of Sound mind & memory I do make and ordain & Establish 
the same as follows (towit)

I leave & bequeath unto my son William McCORMACK & his heirs forever nine acres of Land 
which Alexander MILLER purchased out of the Tract he now Lives on Merry HUMPHREYS in 
addition a horse Saddle & Bridle  which he the said William had previously Received of me.

Secondly I Leave & Bequeath unto my son Richard McCORMACK one Bed & furniture & Bay horse he 
now claims his Saddle & Bridle & two hundred dollars towards Enabling him to purchase a 
tract of Land.

Thirdly I Leave & Bequeath unto my Daughters Susannah & Ann each one feather Bed & furniture 
& To Susannah I leave a Sorrel Horse & a Saddle & Bridle which she now claims & to Ann I 
Leave & Bequeath a young Brown mare & Twenty Dollars to Buy her a Saddle Should the she not 
get a new one Before my Decease and to my Said Daughters Susannah & Ann fifty dollars each 
and testimony of my receipt (?) For their kind attention in waiting on me in my old age.

I leave & Bequeath unto my son Thomas in addition to what I Already received the sum of ten 
Dollars firstly to my son John and Daughter Nancy & my Daughter Sally I Leave & Bequeath to 
them the sum of thirty each and also thirty dollars to my son George the foregoing specific 
Legacies Shall be paid to the persons thereunto named by my executors herein after to be 
named & the Balance of my estate Both real & personal Shall be by them sold Giving twelve 
months Credit for all Sums above five dollars & then to be Equally Divided Between all the 
above mentioned heirs my sons son Thomas Excepted & for Carrying the above Will in to full 
effect I hereby Appoint my son William and my son John Executors to the same.  In Testimony 
Whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 23 Day of May 1814.
