Hardin County Will Book B p.  139
In the name of God Amen I JAMES FRENCH of the County of Hardin and State of Kentucky being in firm 
 in body but in perfect Senses do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in order following that 
is to say I Give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God, That it and my body I recommend 
to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executrix and Executer and  touching such 
worldly and Raiel Estate which it hath pleased God to bless one with I will and bequeath in the following 
manner and form.

Item.  I bequeath to SUSANNA FRENCH my dearly beloved wife the land that I now live on which is one 
hundred and sixty Seven acres and all my Stock which I now possess consisting of three Horses, three 
Cows & 4 calves, about Eight Hogs and ten head of Sheep and all my House Hold and Kitchen furniture 
Except one Feather bed and Furniture and one -ool wheel which I will and bequeath to my beloved 
Daughter MARY FRENCH after all my Just debts are paid she above mentioned Estate is to be long to my 
beloved wife during her life except the reserve above made to my daughter MARY FRENCH and after the 
death of my wife for all the Estate then belonging to her to be equally divided among all my Children.

I likewise constitute make and ordain SUSANNA FRENCH my beloved wife & IGNATIOUS my beloved 
son the Executrix & Executor of this my Last will and Testament.  

I do hereby utterlly disallow revoke & disannull all and every other Testaments and Wills by me in any 
ways before named (?) Willed & bequeathed ratifying and confirmed this and no other to be my last Will 
and Testament.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of April 1815.

18 OCT 1805 Hardin Co. Deed Book C p. 124  Paul FRENCH of Hardin Co. to John HIBBS of the County and 
State aforesaid.  That for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred (doesn’t say one hundred what!) 
to him in hand paid hath granted bargained and sold  a certain tract or parcel of land containing 
two hundred and forty acres more or less situate lying and being in Hardin County on the waters of 
Dorrets run adjoining Ruben CAMPS... bounded by the line of George PAUL’s settlement... to MYER’s 
Corner.
