B. WITHERS

Recorded 2 November 1818 Bullitt Co. KY Court by the oaths of Samuel CROW Snr. and Samuel
CROW Jr. and William CALDWELL.

Withers KING was born 20 August 1741 Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co. VA and died 1 Jun
1816 in Bullitt Co. KY. He was the son of William Arthur KING (b. 1711 Stafford Co. VA)
and Elizabeth EDWARDS (b. 21 March 1738 Stafford Co. VA.)

Withers m. wife Sarah ALEXANDER ca 1770 in VA - probably in Stafford or Prince Wm. Co. I
do not have the year they came to Kentucky. He came with brother Valentine KING and
probably others in the family - some of them went over to the area that would become
Cumberland Co. KY. The brother Valentine died in Nelson Co.

Nelson Co. Will Book A
Will of Valentine KING: To sister Eliza OWENS a share of the profit from land bought of
Patrick McGee during her life, to Eliza Crips, dau. of Nancy BRASHEAR, 200 acres on Floyds
Fork during her life and after the death of above legatees the property to brother John E.
KING. Balance of Estate to be divided between my mother and brothers William and Withers
KING, mother's share to be divided between said brothers at her death. Executors George and
Cuthbert HARRISON. Written 22 Feb 1790. Witnesses Anthony FOSTER, Paul KESTER, Cuthbert
HARRISON . 23 April 1790.

I have a little more on some of Wither's children:

Levicy KING m. James CUNNINGHAM 18 Sep 1789 in Nelson Co.
Francis Ann KING m. James CUNNINGHAM 2 May 1793 - they lived in Bullitt Co.
Valentine KING m. Catherine HARRIS 2 Feb 1799 Nelson Co.
WilliamKING - I have no spouse but have seen him referred to as William Rufus KING
Seth KING was b. 1763 in Stafford Co.
Nelson KING b. 1787 Stafford Co. m. 1st Charlotte RUSSELL of Bullitt Co. 2.
Jane WIGGINTON 27 Aug 1807 at Bardstown, KY
Fanny KING m. William NEILL 29 Sep 1794 Nelson Co. KY
John KING m. Sarah CLIFTON 12 Jul 1792 in Nelson Co. and may be the John in the will but I
am not sure.

Alexander KING b. 1764 Stafford Co. married 18 Oct 1793 to Molly HALL. the daughter of
David and Rachel HALL. I am trying to find his will so that I am certain of their children
but the (unverified) list I have for their children is John, Nelson, Sarah, James,
Elizabeth, Barbara, Frankie and Yelverton ( few Stafford families could be without their
Yelverton, it seems)

The use of the given name Seth is also a Stafford Co. identifyer - in this migration we also
have Seth THORNSBERRY, Seth BOTTS, Seth JEWELL, Seth WIGGINTON.

Much of this family seems to have straddled the Bullitt Co./Spencer Co. line.
They can be found in records in both counties and had lands around Dutchman
Creek and Plumb Creek area.

Does anyone know the CROW connection to this family that has all those Crow
men witnessing the will above? I think they were from Maryland?
