Glen Asbell Dies In Early
Glen B. Asbell, 60 of 2417 Cherry Laurel Lane, died unexpectedly Thursday
afternoon in Early County Hospital, while on a business trip.
Mr. Asbell was born Aug. 5, 1910 in Wilkinson County, the son of the late Lada
Hooks Asbell and Bryant Asbell. He had been a resident of Albany since 1948 and
was an attorney.
He was a charter member of Sherwood Baptist Church and served as a deacon and
teacher of the E. H. Heidt Sunday School Class. He served in the US Navy in
World War II.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Edna Butler, originally of
Wilkinson County; a daughter, Mrs. Gil Harbin, Valdosta; a sister, Mrs. T. J.
Finney, Atlanta; two brothers, B. B. Asbell, Irwinton and John W. Freeman, San
Gabriel, Calif.; and two grandsons.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11AM in Sherwood Baptist Church. The Rev.
Curtis A. Burge Jr., pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church and the Rev. Albert
Cardwell, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Macon, will officiate.
Interment services will be at 4PM Saturday in the Masonic Cemetery in Irwinton.

Glen was born 5 Aug 1910. His wife, Edna Jewel Butler Asbell Williamson is
buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta, Ga.
