Obituary of Maidee Harrell Shirah 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 22 December 2001.  

Albany, Georgia.  
Maidee Harrell Shirah, 92, of Albany died Thursday, 
20 Dec 2001, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Her funeral service will be today, 22 
Dec 2001 at 2:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow at Floral Memoral 
Gardens.  Bobby Marshall and David Benton will officiate.  A native of Mitchell County, 
she had lived in this area all of her life.  She was a member of the Albany Gospel Chapel 
and was the widow of Lawson H. Shirah Sr.  Survivors include a son; Lawson H. Shirah 
Jr. and his wife, Annette of Albany; daughter, Elizabeth Naylor and her husband, James; 
six grandchildren, Thomas L. Shirah and his wife, Gale of Albany, Vicki S. Cooper and 
her husband, Paul of Thomasville, Gayle Barry and her husband, Chris of Dallas, Texas, 
Debbi Dollar and her husband, Butch of Nacogdoches, Texas, Jackie Keller and her 
husband, Mark of Mankato, MN, Jimmy Naylor of Albany, 10 great grandchildren; one
