Obituary of Milton Akridge 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 17 Sep 1992. 

 
The funeral service of Milton Akridge, 64, of 3315 Sylvester Road, who died 
Wednesday, 16 Sep 1992, will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, 18 Sep 1992 at Kimbrell-
Stern Funeral Directors with interment in Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Mitchell County.  
A native of Mitchell County, Mr. Akridge had resided in Albany most of his life  and had 
worked for Yeargin Construction Company. He was a veteran of the Korean War.  
Survivors include two sons, Jack Akridge and Karl Akridge, both of Albany; two 
daughters, Leigh A. Tipler of Albany and Laura Akridge of Atlanta; his mother, Minnie 
Lee Akridge of Pelham; two sisters, Virginia Frosteg of Pelham and Martha Bryant of 
Atlanta; a brother, Mickey Akridge of Florence, S. C.; and five grandchildren.  The 
family is at the residence of Don and Leigh Tipler, 521 Devine Drive and will receive 
friends from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM today at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.
