Obituary of Benjamin Wallace Herring 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 20 Aug 1999.  


Wallace Herring, 62, of 2011 Robinhood Road died Tuesday at Phoebe 
Putney Memorial Hospital.  The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Kimbrell-Stern with 
burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.  A native of Worth County, Mr. Herring had lived in 
Albany for the past three years and was a retired agent with Special Enforcement of the 
Internal Revenue Service. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his 
wife, Carol Nobles Herring of Albany; two daughters, Sherri Churney of Conyers and 
Erin Wormley of Suwanee; his mother and stepfather, Ruby and James Southwell of 
Albany; five sisters, Cheryl Brooks of Sylvester, Gail Watson of Valdosta, Gay Giddens 
of Worth County,Vickie Lewis of Albany and Debbie Garcia of Edison;four brothers, 
R.L. Herring of Albany, Larry Herring of Worth County, Austin Herring of Adel and 
Ronnie Herring of Lilburn;and four grandchildren.
