Obituary of Robert Riley Hortman 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 18 Dec 1981.  


The funeral service of Riley R. Hortman, 75, of Route 8, who died Wednesday, 16 
Dec 1981, will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, 18 Dec 1981 at Kimbrell-Stern with 
interment in Floral Memory Gardens.  A native of Crawford County, Mr. Hortman 
resided in Albany 31 years and was retired.  He was a member of the Primitive Baptist 
Church and the Sheriff's Boys Ranch.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Athalone 
Williams Hortman; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Sara) Buford and Mrs. William 
(Shirley) Brooks, both of Albany; three brothers, William Hortman of Moultrie, J. T. 
Hortman of Doerun and Earl Smith of Albany; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Hiers of Coolidge, 
Mrs. Mildred Cissine and Mrs. Elsie Pinson, both of Tallahassee, Fla.; six grandchildren 
and two great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM today at 
Kimbrell-Stern.
