Obituary of Burnett, Pearl Iva Thomas 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 5 Jun 1986.  


The funeral service of Mrs. Morton (Pearl) Burton, 88, of 1407 Gillespie 
Avenue who died Monday, 2 Jun 1986, will be conducted Thursday, 5 Jun 1986, at Byne 
Memorial Baptist Church with internment in Riverside Cemetery.  Mrs. Burnett, a native 
of Mitchell County, had lived in Albany since 1927 and was a member of Byne Memorial 
Baptism Church, and was active in Sunday School, the Mallory Association, WMU and 
the Peace Officers Auxiliary.  Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Jeanette Bius of Albany; 
a son, Jack Burnett of Emporia, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. A. T. Taylor of Atlanta, Mrs. J. B. 
Belin of Houston, TX, and Mrs. Charles Mathews of Camilla; 10 grandchildren and 12 
great-grandchildren.  Kimbrell-Stern  is in charge of arrangements.
