Obituary of Thomas N. Burnett Sr. 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 14 Jul 1976.  


The funeral service of Thomas N. Burnett Sr., 55, of 306 Fourth Avenue, who died 
Monday, 12 Jul 1976, will be conducted at 4:00 PM today in Kimbrell-Stern.  Internment 
will follow in Riverside Cemetery.  Mr. Burnett,  a native of Mitchell County, had lived 
in Albany 49 years.  He was a conductor with the Southern Railroad, a graduate of 
Albany High School and a veteran of World War II.  He was a member of Byne  
Memorial Baptist Church,  the VFW and the Moose Lodge.  Survivors include a son, 
Thomas "Tommy" N. Burnett Jr. of Albany; mother, Mrs. M. Burnett of Albany; a sister 
Mrs. Jeanette Bius of Albany; two brothers, Bentley Burnett of Albany and Jack Burnett 
of Emporia, Va. and two grandsons.
