Obituary of Eldon Leroy Mansfield Sr. 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 17 Sep 1979.  

Albany, Georgia.  The grave side funeral service of E. L. Mansfield, 74, of 
502-A Tift Avenue, who died Saturday, 15 Sep 1979, will be conducted Monday, 17 Nov 
1979 at Crown Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Mansfield, a Mitchell County native, had lived in 
Albany for 53 years.  He retired from REA Express in 1970 after 46 years of service.  he 
was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  Survivors include his wife, Emily 
McDonell Mansfield of Albany; a son, Lt. Col. E. Leroy Mansfield, Jr. of Fort Lee, 
Virginia; a brother, Davis Mansfield of Newton; five sisters, Miss Eva Mansfield and 
Mrs. W. P. Henry of Pelham, Mrs. E. L. Mostellar of Anderson, S.C., Mrs. Sara Hall of 
Newton and Mrs. J. R. Johnson of Leesburg; seven grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer 
Society or Heart Fund.  Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
