Obituary of Laura Belle Webb Williams 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 17 Feb 1969 and 18 Feb 1969.  

Albany, Georgia.  
Mrs. Laura W. Williams, 75, of 2526 
Cherokee Drive, was pronounced dead on arrival at Phoebe Putney Hospital Sunday 
afternoon following and apparent heart attack at her home.  Mrs. Williams, the former 
Miss Laura Belle Webb, was born 22 Jun 1893, in Terrell County, daughter of the late 
George and Mary Jane Cook Webb.  She had been a resident of Albany since 1943 and 
was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.  Her husband was the late Lonnie Williams.  
Survivors include six daughters;  Mrs. Charles M. Hardy, Mrs. James Southwell, Mrs. J. 
O. Ford, Mrs. William J. Fowler, Mrs. R. R. Hortman and Mrs. O. L. McDaniel, all of 
Albany; a son, William Lee Williams of Apopka, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-
grandchildren.   The funeral will be held Tuesday at 3:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern Chapel 
with the Rev C. R. Nichols, pastor of Sunnyside Baptist Church, officiating.  Pallbearers 
were grandsons Lamar Chatman, Ronnie Hardy, Tommy Hardy, Wallace Herring, Dean 
Ford and Kenneth Ford. Interment will be in Floral Memory Gardens.
