Obituary of Minnie Lee Bouchelle Pitts 
as written in "The Albany Herald" dated 29 Apr 1958.  

Albany, Georgia.  
Mrs. R. L. Pitts, 78, of 829 Society Avenue, died Sunday, 
27 April 1958, at the home of her son, Cecil B. Pitts.  Mrs. Pitts had been in declining 
health for six months.  She was a resident in Albany for 53 years.  Her husband, the late 
Robert Lee Pitts, died 15 Oct 1945. Mrs. Pitts was the former Miss Minnie Lee Bouchelle 
of Maxeys, Georgia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany.  She is 
survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mildred McGuirt of Albany; a son, Cecil B. Pitts of Albany; 
two brothers; H.M. Bouchelle of Social Circle, Georgia, and J. W. Bouchelle of 
Milledgeville, Georgia; a sister, Mrs. Mae Sue Nicholson of Maxeys; and eight 
grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 29 April at 2:30 PM at the 
First Baptist Church, Dr. Leonard Stephens officiating.  Interment will follow in Crown 
Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be D. C. Campbell Jr., Richard Hobbs, J. W. Williams, 
Lazarus Crine, W. L. Banks and W. B. Stripling. Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors are in 
charge of arrangements.
