Mr. Chastain was born June 5, 1925, in Madison County. He was a son of the late George and Dedie Floyd Chastain. Mr. Chastain was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II, and was an owner of Chastain Meat Processing. He attended Evangelical Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Group. Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by a brother, James S. Chastain, and two sisters, Betty Beard and Esther Bragg. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, at Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Peek officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Congregational Holiness Church cemetery. Mr. Chastain's nephews, Ricky Hart, Randy Hart, David Chastain, Tommy Cleveland, Edwin Fowler and Jeff Fowler, served as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife, Eunice E. Fowler Chastain; one daughter, Melinda K. Martin, Royston; four sisters, Sue Berryman, Lynell Human and Lou Ellen Hart, all of Royston, and Cecile Murray, Kannapolis, N.C.; and three grandchildren. Dorothy John Allen Dorothy, 61, of Hull, died Wednesday, January 26, 2000. Mr. Dorothy was born in Rehobeth, Mass., the son of the late Charles and Adrianna Caldwell Dorothy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Crosby Valve & Gage Company. Mr. Dorothy was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Paradis Dorothy. Funeral services were held Friday, January 28, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Joy Nellisery officiating. Burial was in Athens Memory Gardens. Shane Couch, Terry Morgan, John Bellew, JR Bellew, Charlie Rush and Danny Ford served as pallbearers. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia L. Rush, Carlton, and Laurie A. Kidder, Wrentham, Mass.; one son, Michael J. Dorothy, Commerce; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Kitchens Terry Leonard Kitchens, 42, of Comer, died Saturday, January 29, 2000. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Kitchens was a son of the late Lovic and Estelle Roberts Kitchens. Graveside services were held Monday, January 31, in the Indian Creek Baptist Church cemetery, Franklin County. Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Kitchens; two daughters, Kerry Marie Kitchens, Comer, and Amy Marie Mathis, Homer; one son, Timothy Leonard Kitchens, Commerce; two sisters, Ruth Vaughn, Homer, and Joyce K. Brock, Danielsville; one brother, James Edward Kitchens, Danielsville; and one grandson. Wilkie Mrs. Lillie Muriel Barrett Wilkie, 76, of Danielsville, died Friday, January 28, 2000, at Cobb Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wilkie was born April 27, 1923, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late William A. and Myrtle Allen Barrett. Mrs. Wilkie was a homemaker and a member of Community Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Monday, January 31, in the chapel of Little- Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. David Strickland officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Survivors include her husband, James E. Wilkie; two sons, Major William D. Wilkie, Hampton, Va., and Ronald S. Wilkie, Cleveland; one brother, Charles E. Brown Mrs. Margie Rich Brown, 57, of Danielsville, died Thursday, January 27, 2000. Mrs. Brown was born in Madison County, the daughter of Annie L. Booth Rich and the late Charles L. Rich. She was employed as a plant manager with Scientific Atlanta and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Brown. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, at Providence Baptist Church with the Revs. Albert Vaughn and Johnny Tucker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Phil Brown, Chris Carver, Nelson Stovall, Larry Evans, Jr. McGee, Billy Booth, Tim Hardeman and Jr. Shields served as pallbearers. Burden Mrs. Esther Hulsey Burden, 83, of Danielsville, died Saturday, January 29, 2000, at her residence. Mrs. Burden was born November 24, 1916, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late Isiah Zade and Pearlie Ann Bridges Hulsey. Mrs. Burden was a retired seamstress and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Burden. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Dayton Logan and Mark Palmer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Burden's grandsons served as pallbearers. Esco Bobby Lewis Esco, 63, of Winder, died Thursday, January 27, 2000. Mr. Esco was born in Oglethorpe County, a son of the late Charlie Mell Esco and Lucy Brake. He was employed in the textile industry and was of the Baptist denomination. Funeral services were held Friday, January 28, in the chapel of Wise-Connolly Funeral Home, Winder, with Don Pennington officiating. Burial was in the Hoschton Cemetery. Richard Esco, Mitchell McCoy, Dennis Hayes, Mitchell Smith, Jody Esco and Jamie Littleton served as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife, Marie Smith Esco; three daughters, Linda Smith and Vicky L. Patterson, 90, of Hull, died Tuesday, January 25, 2000. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Patterson was a daughter of the late Robert and Viola Patton Carter. She was a retired seamstress, had attended Joy Baptist Church and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Lance, and her second husband, Cleo Patterson. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 27, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Ric Veal and Bill Wood officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery. David Black, Barry Black, Malcolm Lance, Gabriel Black, Bobby Hardy and Bo Lance served as pallbearers. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Black, Hull; three sons, Bill Lance, Bob Lance and Tom Patterson, all of Hull; two sisters, Geneva Gunnells, Athens, and Eunice Strickland, Colbert; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Wright Michael Lee "Tink" Wright, 39, of Comer, died Thursday, January 27, 2000. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Wright was a son of the late Freddy B. Wright and Hazel Ann Alexander Wright. He was a skilled craftsman and a full-time father. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, on top of Currhea Mountain, Toccoa, with the Rev. Steve Welch officiating. Survivors include his wife, Tracy A. Bales, Nicholson; three daughters, Dustie Leeann Kitchen, Winder, and Mychael Tori Wright and Juanita Ann Wright, both of Comer; one brother, James H. Wright, Lexington; one sister, Nita Wright Phillips, Danielsville; and one granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the "Michael 'Tink' Wright" Memorial Fund, c/o Nita Phillips, Merchants and Farmers Bank, P.O. Box 520, Hull, GA 30646.
