Item 1 - To wife:  lend to her for and during the term of her natural life or 
widowhood the following property, to wit, the tracts of land on the north side 
of Mill Creek, on which I at present reside together with the improvements 
thereon, also the land on the South side of Mill and East of a line description 
references land purchased from heirs of Jacob Hammond, land lately purchased of 
Payton Haws, and Andrew Lee's line]

Also to wife the following negroes for the like term, to wit, Little, Jacob, 
Scipio, and his wife Big Jinney, Little Jinney and her son Nicholas, Lydia and 
her children, Annis and Rosanna, Charlotte and child, Lucy, Sandy, Charles and 
Amy, also all the plantation tools blacksmith tools cotton gin and running gear 
and threshing machine, also a yoke of oxen and half of the stock of cattle of 
her own selection, the whole of the stock of hogs the stock of sheep, also four 
horses of her own selection, and the waggon and gear, also the whole of the 
household and kitchen furniture (except two feather beds and furniture which is 
disposed of in another item) also a sufficiency of pork or back & lard, sugar 
and coffee, corn, fodder, oats and wheats of the crop which may be growing or 
gathered at the time of my decease, to support herself and family, and the 
stock of all kind the year ensuing my decease

Item 2 - To daughter Peggy, who intermarried with Andrew Lee Jr in addition to 
what I have already given her one negro man named Big Jacob 

Item 3 - To daughter Polly in addition to what I have already given her the 
land South and West of the line described in the first item... adjoining lands 
of Andrew Lee Jr Matthew Collars, Richard Collars, James Paradise and Thomas W 
Murray which includes tracts I purchased of heirs of Jacob Hammond and a part 
of the tract lately purchased of Peyton Hawes

Item 4 - To granddaughter Matilda Walker the following negroes to wit Jam? and 
Amis the last mentioned of which she is not to have untill the death or 
intermarriage of my wife the above mentioned negroes I give her on condition 
that she is barred a participation and interest in the distribution of the 
property of her father Langford Walker decd with her mother brother and sister, 
otherwise to my daughter Polly 

Item 5 - To son William H. Harper in addition to what I have already given him 
the following negroes to wit Moses & Aaron

Item 6 - To daughter Betsey who has intermarried with Thomas W. Murray in 
addition to what I have already given her one negro woman named Nancy and her 
future increase 

Item 7 - To daughter Louisa who intermarried with Stern Simmons Jr two negroes 
to wit Stephen and Florah in addition to what I have already given her 

Item 8 - To daughter Sally the following negroes to wit Daniel Judy and Dorcas 
and their increase, one feather bed and furniture, a horse of the value of 
seventy five dollars, and two cows and calves 

Item 9 - To daughter Susan the following negroes to wit Jack Fanny and Phillis 
and their future increase, one feather bed and furniture a horse of the value 
of seventy five dollars and two cows and calves

Item 10 - The negroes lent to my wife will upon her death or intermarriage be 
divided as follows, to daughter Peggy, the negro woman named Lydia and her 
future increase; to son William H. Harper Sipio and wife Big Jinney Little 
Jacob Nicholas and Amy.  To daughter Betsy Little Jinney and her future 
increase.  To daughter Louisa the negro boy Charles.  To daughter Sally Sandy 
and Rosanna.  To daughter Susan the negro woman Charlotte and child Lucy and 
the future increase of said negro woman. The household and kitchen furniture 
(with exception of my walnut desk and my large Bible which at the death or 
intermarriage of my wife I give to my son William H.Harper) the stock of all 
kind together with the plantation tools, cotton gin and running gear threshing 
machine, waggon and gear yoke of oxen and horses or so much of the above 
property as may be remaining to be equally divided between daughters Polly, 
Louisa, Sally and Susan

Item 11 - The remainder of land on the south side of mill Creek and which is 
lent to my wife at the time of her death or intermarriage goes to daughters 
Sally and Susan jointly in fee simple

Item 12 - Remainder of estate not already disposed of consisting of tract where 
I at present reside, at death or intermarriage of wife should be sold by 
executors on a credit of one two and three years and the proceeds of the sale 
equally divided between Peggy, William H. Harper, Betsey and Louisa and 
granddaughter Matilda Walker if alive or to heirs of her body capable of 
inheriting

Item 13 - Should remainder of stock of horses and cattle, remainder of corn, 
fodder, etc. after furnishing my wife with what is mentioned in first item be 
insufficient to discharge my debts, executors to keep all the property together 
on the plantation until the debts can be discharged by the crops made on the 
plantation, and during time property kept together my wife and daughters, 
should daughters Sally and Susan remain unmarried to be supported and furnished 
with such clothing as I have usually furnished and whenever either or both of 
them marry they're entitled to possession of the negroes and other property 
given to them in eighth and ninth items

Lastly I nominate and appoint my wife Anne Philada Harper and son William H 
Harper my executors, etc. this third day of September eighteen hundred & twenty 
seven
