MOORE, RALPH
Mr. Ralph Moore, 74, of McDonough passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at the Henry Medical Center.
Mr. Moore was born Sept. 29, 1930, in Soperton, Ga. to the late William Steely Moore and the late Lillie 
Mae Willis Moore. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was retired after 30 years with General 
Motors, and was an avid member of Masonic Lodge 702.  Survivors include his wife of 39 years, 
Janice M. Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Ricardo Rodriguez of McDonough; grandson, 
Sebastian Rodriguez; sister, Bernice Hutchenson of Soperton.  Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn 
Memorial Park. 

BELLAMY, OTIS
Mr. Otis Bellamy of Ellenwood, Ga. passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005.  He was a native of Banks County, 
a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ellenwood. He was a veteran 
of World War II, where he bravely served his country aboard the USS Melvin during heavy combat in the 
South Pacific. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be greatly missed.
Born March 11, 1923, in Homer, Ga., he was the eldest son of Groze Marion Bellamy and Alma Belle Strange 
Bellamy. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Margaret.  He is survived by his daughters and 
sons-in-law, Sharon and Terry Holland of Fayetteville, Ga., Angela and Scotty Fletcher of Fayetteville, Velinda 
and David Warda of Smyrna, Ga., and Tina and John Elliott of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Russ Holland, Brittany 
Fletcher, Wade Holland, Brian Fletcher, Brooke Fletcher, Garrison Elliott, and Brenna Elliott, all of Fayetteville. 
He is also survived by a brother, Clifford Bellamy of Ellenwood, and sisters Geneva McElheney of Monticello 
and Bonnie Howard, Ph.D. of Athens; several nieces and nephews.  After his family, he was most proud of his 
business and philanthropic accomplishments. Along with his brother Cliff, he started Bellamy Brothers, Inc. in 
1954, where he was active until his death. They left their mark on the bridges and highways in several Southern 
states. The marvels produced by the company include the bridge over the Alabama River, the Sidney Lanier Bridge 
in Brunswick, and the Interstate 75/85 connector in downtown Atlanta, to name a few. He was also involved in 
Bellamy-Strickland Chevrolet, GMC and Pontiac, as well as numerous other businesses. Due to his entrepreneurial 
spirit and the belief that there was no greater reward than being in business for yourself, he mentored countless 
people.  One of his greatest contributions to Henry County was the work he did to establish Henry Medical 
Center in Stockbridge. His foresight and "can do" attitude made a hospital in then rural Henry County a reality.
He was an eternal optimist who was forever young. Even during his lengthy illness he remained lighthearted, 
kind, thoughtful and mischievous, with a smile on his face.

WILKERSON, IDUS MILAM (BUDDY)
Mr. Idus Milam (Buddy) Wilkerson, 79, of Hampton passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at the 
Spalding Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Wilkerson was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Henry County to the late 
G. Thomas Wilkerson and the late Alma Milam Wilkerson. Mr. Wilkerson was retired from Delta Air Lines.
Mr. Wilkerson was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. Mr. Wilkerson 
was a member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge 70 for 50 years. Mr. Wilkerson was a member of Berea 
Christian Church in Hampton.  Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife, Janie Wilkerson; daughter and 
son-in-law, Sandra and Jimmy Floyd of Stockbridge; grandson and spouse, James E. and Jennifer Williams 
of Stockbridge; great-grandsons, Samuel Williams and Benjamin Williams; brother and spouse, Ralph and 
Wanda Wilkerson of Hampton; sister, Gladys Martin of McDonough; sister-in-law, Ruth Wilkerson of 
McDonough; several nieces and nephews.   Interment will follow at the Berea Cemetery.

CALLAWAY, INA ELLIVE
Ina Ellive Callaway of Forest Park, Ga. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005.  She is preceded in death 
by her husband, James W. Callaway. Survivors include her children, Mrs. Janie (Robert) Johnston, Mrs. 
Louise (Jim) Weaver, and Mr. Roy (Marilyn) Callaway; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces
 and nephews.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday. Feb. 7 at Ward's Parkway Chapel, Forest 
Park, Ga. with the Rev. Dan Jones and the Rev. Robert Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in 
Marietta National Cemetery.

STRICKLAND, STACYE MICHELLE DURMIRE
Stacye Michelle Durmire Strickland, 36, of Locust Grove, Ga. died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005.  Stacye was born 
June 9, 1968, in Cobb County, daughter of Gary Phillip Durmire and the late Angela Louise Ranti Durmire.
She loved her family, friends and animals.  Survivors are her sister and brother-in-law, Christa and Jeff 
Pittman of Locust Grove; niece, Kaitlyn Pittman and nephew, Cameron Pittman of Locust Grove; aunt 
and uncle, Teresa and O.E. Rylander of Locust Grove; cousins, Alicia Rylander of Stockbridge, Valorie 
Rylander-Davis of Vinings, Shelly Parker and Samantha Parker of McDonough.  Funeral services will 
begin at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 8 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Owen 
officiating. Interment will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.

RODRIQUEZ, ALFONSO SR.
Alfonso Rodriguez Sr., age 90, of McDonough, died Feb. 4, 2005. He was born in Puerto Rico, son of the 
late Carmen Lebron Rodriguez and Jose Rodriguez. He served our country during WWII in the U.S. Army 
and was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church.  Alfonso Rodriguez Sr. is survived by his wife, 
Diega Rodriguez, of McDonough; sons, Alfonso Rodriguez Jr., of McDonough, Jose Rodriguez, of Queens, 
N.Y., Harry Rodriguez, of Tampa, Fla., Johnny Rodriguez, of McDonough, Nelson Rodriguez, of Tampa, 
Fla.; daughters, Anna Cheverino, of Queens, N.Y., Carmen Beale, of Queens, N.Y., Donna Rodriguez, of Bronx, 
N.Y.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services 
will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Chapel of Cannon-Cleveland, with Father Michael Sherliza officiating. 
Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

STOKES, EARL I.
Mr. Earl I. Stokes, 80, of Griffin passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at the Christian Ministries Hospice.  Mr. Stokes 
was born July 4, 1924, in Fulton County, son of the late Doris and Frank Stokes. He was owner of State Loan 
for a number of years and rental property before retiring. He was a Shriner and a Mason. He was a veteran of 
World War II. He was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association and the Spotted Saddle Horse 
Association. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by brothers, William 
Stokes, Ernest Stokes and Joseph Idus Stokes. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, June Godfrey Stokes; 
daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Brett Hamilton of McDonough, Ga., and Gail and Gene Pope of Bellview, 
Wash.; son, Mark and Kelli Stokes of Griffin; grandchildren, Michelle Pope, Robert Pope, Scotty Pope and 
Dennis Pope of Bellview, Wash.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nellie and Charlie Black, Susan and James 
Prater of Jonesboro, Karrie and Herschel Dickens of Griffin, Mildred Eddy of Farmingdale, N.J., Lillie Mae 
Felt of Jonesboro, Katherine Brooks of Marietta, Margie Stokes of Stockbridge, JoAnne Stokes of Decatur 
and numerous nieces and nephews.  Funeral services for Mr. Earl I. Stokes will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, 
Feb. 7 in the Warren Haisten Memorial Chapel. Dr. Steve Stewart will officiate. Entombment will follow in 
Westwood Mausoleum.

COOK, HERMAN BENTON
Mr. Herman Benton Cook, 76, of McDonough, GA. died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Henry Medical Center.
Mr. Cook was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Sandersville, Ga., son of the late Sarah Margarett McMillan and Carrol 
Clayton Cook. He was a member of Timberridge Presbyterian Church, served his country in the U.S. Coast 
Guard, retired from Atlanta Gas Light with 37 years, graduated from Lumber City High School Class of  '48, 
and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.  Mr. Cook is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Pat 
Kuglar Cook of McDonough; children, Brenda and Wallace P. Middleton of Savannah, and Kevin and Julie 
Cook of Canton; sisters, Marian and Tommy Tomlinson of Stockbridge, and Carolyn and Delbert Wilkes of 
Brunswick; grandchildren, Wallace and Jennifer Middleton, Jr. of Marietta, Sarah and Matt Harbin of Roanoke, 
Va., Stephanie Cook of Canton, and Brian Cook of Canton; and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Cook will be Sunday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the 
Rev. Rachael Knoll officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Mamie Ferrell, 83, of East Point died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005.  She was preceded in death by her husband, 
John C. Ferrell, and is survived by her daughters, Betty and Bob Frazier of Muskogee, Okla., Vicki and Tony 
Creel of East Point, Ga., and Debra Ferrell of Augusta, Ga., and son, Larry Ferrell of Sharpsburg, Ga.; seven 
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Jewel Poston of Charleston, S.C.; several nieces and nephews.

SULLIVAN, HAZEL G.
Hazel G. Sullivan, 95, of McDonough, Ga. died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2005.  She was born in McDonough, Ga. to 
Nancy Grant (Stallworth) and Benjamin Franklin Grant. She retired from General Motors and was a member 
of the First Baptist Church of McDonough, the McDonough Womans Club, and was formerly with the Henry 
Medical Center Auxiliary.  Hazel Sullivan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Sullivan, and 
sister, Eldora Jones. She is survived by cousins, Betty and Bobby Russell of McDonough, Ga., William 
Stallworth of Bay St. Louis, Miss., and Margaret Castellaw of McDonough, Ga.  Interment will follow at 
Westview Cemetery.

Myrtle Bailey, 83, of Jackson, Ga. died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005.  She was born in Atlanta, Ga. to Callie Brown 
(McPherson) and James Jefferson Brown. She was a member of New Covenant Church of God in McDonough.
Myrtle Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Howard Bailey, Sr. and is survived by daughters, 
Gloria Duncan of Jackson, Ga., Peggy and Jim Freeman of Rockmart, Ga., and Pat and Ken Smith of Ringoes, 
N.J.; son, Dewey H. Bailey of Covington, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great great-
grandchildren.  Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland 
Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jeff Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.

James Samuel Leming, 81, of Forest Park, Ga. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005.  He was preceded in 
death by his wife, Grace Day Leming. Survivors include his son, James A. (Mary Jane) Leming; four grandchildren; 
12 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild.  Graveside services begin at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, 
Feb. 12 at Hillcrest Cemetery, East Point, Ga. with the Rev. Dwayne Barnes officiating.

WILDER, JOHN WILLIAM "BUDDY"
Mr. John William "Buddy" Wilder Sr., 78, of McDonough passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Newton 
General Hospital.  Mr. Wilder was born March 29, 1926, in Henry County, Ga. to the late Chester Lee Wilder 
and the late Lois Odell Wilkerson Wilder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Verna Garner Wilder 
in 1991, and by sisters Sara Farmer, Nora Owens, and Mildred Mason.  He raised cattle on his farm in 
McDonough for many years.  Survivors include his children, Janie Elrod and Johnny Wilder, both of 
McDonough; grandchildren, Mark Elrod, William Blair Wilder, and Holly W. Watford; four great-grandchildren; 
sisters, Alice Dick of McDonough and Mary Brooks and Catherine Hammond, both of Griffin; brother, 
Jimmy Wilder of McDonough.  Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.

WADDELL, CURTIS O'NEAL
Mr. Curtis O'Neal Waddell, 57, of McDonough passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at the Sacred Journey 
Hospice.  Mr. Waddell was born Feb. 10, 1947, in Habersham County, Ga. to the late William Ellis Waddell 
and the late Hattie Mae Nicholson Waddell. He was preceded in death by brothers Willie Jay Waddell and 
Jerry Patrick Waddell. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, worked for CW Transfer, 
loved camping and cheering on the Henry  County Marching Band.  Survivors include his wife of 35 years, 
Glenda Waddell; son, Matthew Waddell; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Stallings and Evelyn Meeks, both 
of Clarksville, and Lois and Phil Ward of Rome; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jackie Waddell of 
Georgetown; nieces and nephews.  Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.

KAUFMAN, WILLIAM D.
William D. Kaufman, 76, of McDonough passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at his residence.  Mr. Kaufman 
was born Jan. 9, 1929, in Tulsa, Okla. and was retired from Trucking, Inc.  Survivors include his children, 
Bill and Patricia Kaufman of McDonough, Katy Kaufman of Washington state, Elizabeth and David Cartier 
of Hopkinton, Mass., Ellen Kaufman of Massachusetts, and Linda Grace of Maine; eight grandchildren; 
one great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Linda Diane Stiles, age 56, of Gresham Road in Zebulon, passed away Feb. 11, 2005, at Southern Regional 
Medical Center. She was born March 27, 1948, to the late Ovis Ray   Baxter and Helen Faye Kemp Baxter. 
She was a homemaker who enjoyed watching her grandchildren play ball and going to the Music Barn in 
Williamson.  She is survived by her husband, Bill Stiles; sons and daughters-in-law, Daryl DeLeon and Kelly 
Jo Stiles, of Williamson, Terry Grady and Sangee Michele Stiles, of Zebulon, and Jerry Brady Stiles, of 
Williamson; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Dianne and Hal Creel, of Gay; grandchildren, Jamie Dianne

Mrs. Judy H. Thrailkill of McDonough died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005.  Mrs. Thrailkill was a human resource 
secretary for the Clayton County Board of Education and she was a member of Kenwood First Baptist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Thrailkill.  She is survived by her children, Stacie Thrailkill 
of Atlanta and Joel and Hope Thrailkill of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Leah Thrailkill and Sydney Thrailkill, 
both of Locust Grove;  sisters, Mary Green of Camden, Ark., Gene and Anna Rasco of Ashdown, Ark., Larry 
and Martha Earls of Marietta, Ga., George and Sherry Craft of Merryville, La., and Ed and Phyllis Orr of 
Bentonville, Ark.; several nieces and nephews.  Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park.

SIMS, CHARLES SAMUEL
Charles Samuel Sims, 71, of Spalding County, Ga. passed away at his home Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005.  Mr. Sims 
was born Jan. 15, 1934, in Butts County, son of the late Martha Dell Ridgeway Sims and James Edwin Sims. 
He was a 1950 graduate of Jackson High School and a veteran  of World War II. Associated with Dan. J. Smith 
Distributors for 27 years, he retired in 1999. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Griffin, 
the American Quarter Horse Association, the American Cutting Horse Association, and the Griffin Elks Club. 
Those who knew him will remember his love of the land and animals, especially horses. He owned many 
Quarter Horses during the years and enjoyed training and working with them. He studied bloodlines and 
pedigrees and was most knowledgeable in this field, as friends and family can attest. During his last days, 
he would watch the horses graze from his hospital bed.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years, June Kitchens 
Sims; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and John S. Fields of McDonough; son, Charles Samuel Sims Jr. of 
Spalding County; his beloved granddaughter, Ellis Fields of McDonough; sister and brother-in-law, Angelyn 
and Frank C. Hearn of Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Anne Sims of Alpharetta; aunts, 
Matilda R. Durham of Snellville and Hazel R. Coleman of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; uncles, J. Harry Ridgeway, 
Tommy H. Ridgeway, and David P. Ridgeway Sr., all of Jackson; several nieces, nephews and cousins 
also survive.

Nora Lee Powell, 79, of Stockbridge, Ga. died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005.  She was born in Shelby, Miss., daughter 
of the late Edna Mullen (Fowler) and Joshua Buchanan Mullen.  Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her 
husband, Benjamin L. Powell, Jr. and is survived by her children, Barbara Brooks of Stockbridge, Ga., Gerald 
Powell of Stockbridge, Ga.,  Kenneth Powell of Stockbridge, Ga., James Powell of Stockbridge, Ga., and Becky 
Powell of Memphis, Tenn.; siblings, Bessie Ford of Greenville, Miss., Essie Wilbur of Baton Rouge, La., Ethel 
Rae Douglas of Detroit, Mich., Frances Mullen of Greenville, Miss., and Austin Mullen of Lebanon, Tenn., 
eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

PARKER, MARGARET ALBERT
Mrs. Margaret Albert Parker, 67, of McDonough, Ga. died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Henry Medical Center.
She was born March 12, 1937, in Fulton County, daughter of the late Ella Ruth Belcher and Frank Albert. She 
was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, she enjoyed music, singing, playing the organ, and working with 
puzzles and games. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Gresham and Lena Mae Albert.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Earl Parker Sr. of McDonough; children, Betty and Raymond Patterson 
of Ellenwood, Brenda and Bobby Shortt of McDonough, Beth and Mike Leary of Cartersville, and Earl and 
Melissa Parker of McDonough; sister, Frances Gallman of Jackson; grandchildren, James Patterson, Jared 
Patterson, Brittany Shortt Denson, and Eli Parker.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

HAIST, CHARLES "CHUCKIE" RICHARD THOMAS
Patrolman Charles "Chuckie" Richard Thomas Haist, 32, of McDonough, Ga. died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, 
in the line of duty as a patrolman with the Henry County Police Department.  Mr. Haist was born April 9, 1972, 
in Fulton County, graduated from Morrow High School, Class of '91, was a member of Forest Park First 
Christian Church, served his country in the U.S. Air Force, loved his children and family, enjoyed fishing, 
golf, his motorcycle, and football.  Survivors are his daughters, Lauren April Haist and Kaitlin Aleece Haist 
of Albany, Ga.; mother, Virginia Morris Haist of Oakwood; father and stepmother, Chuck and Suzan Haist 
of Locust Grove; sister and brother-in-law, Kathalee and Derrick MacDonald of Buford, Ga.; godfather, 
David Biles of Griffin; aunts, uncles and cousins.  Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Forest Park, Ga.

Mrs. Nena Foster Morgan, 83, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005.  Mrs. Morgan was preceded in 
death by her children, Linda Meyerholtz, John Morgan, Olin R. Morgan Jr. and Barbara Morgan.  Burial will 
follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Survivors include her sons, Marvin Morgan and Tommy 
Morgan; daughters, Carolyn Cramer, Connie Whitfield, Edith Floyd and Melody Smith; 20 grandchildren; 
23 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

McCANN, EMMA CARPENTER
Emma Carpenter McCann, 95, of Tree Brook Farm, Thornton, Pa. died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in West Chester, 
Pa.  She was the wife of the late Allen W. McCann, Jr. Mrs. McCann was born Sept. 18,1909, in Wethersfield, 
Conn., daughter of the late Harry B. and Martha Adams Carpenter. She lived in Thornton, Pa. for over 56 years. 
She was a former member of Dilworthtown Presbyterian Church. Mrs. McCann enjoyed weaving, sewing, 
and needlepoint. She also collected seashells and enjoyed spending time with her husband in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Survivors are her sons, Harry C. McCann (his wife Barbara) of Locust Grove, Ga. and Allen W. McCann 3rd 
(his wife Maureen) of Thornton; her grandchildren, Bill, Susan, Amy, Jeff, Steve, and Harry McCann, Michelle 
Bryant, Barby Amico and Chuck Thompson; her 17 great-grandchildren, who knew her as Geegee; brother-in-law, 
Newlin "Sunny" McCann of Landenberg, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 
her sister, Gertrude Carpenter Pope, who died in 1987.  Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.

Mrs. Sara Janie Hall, age 84, of Hall Road, Hampton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005.  Mrs. Hall was born 
in Fayette County on Nov. 15, 1920 to the late J.D. Wilder and the late Leila Mae Shivers Wilder. Mrs. Hall and 
her husband, J.R. Hall, opened the Hall Grocery Store in Clayton County in the panhandle area in 1946, and in 
1971 they opened the Hall's Flying Ranch in the panhandle area.  Survivors include her husband of 63 years, 
J.R. Hall; son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Linda Hall, of Fayetteville; daughter and son-in-law, Patty Keahey 
Mask and Donald Mask, of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jimmy Hall, Connie Jones, Billy Hall, Joey Keahey, 
Jody Keahey, Jeff Keahey and Michelle O'Kelley; great-grandchildren, Charley Hall, Stephen Duran, Michael 
Duran, Audrey Hall, Sara Hall; and several nieces and nephews.   Interment will follow at Westwood Gardens.

Carl Edwards, of Morrow, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005.  He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Edwards, of Morrow; 
daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David Blankenship, of Woodstock; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Edwards, 
of  Covington, John and Lorrie Edwards, of Forsyth, Joe and Teresa Edwards, of Ellenwood, Scott Edwards, of 
Conyers, and Dan Edwards, of Covington; sisters, Helen Voyles, of Stone Mountain, Thelma Dobbs, of Decatur, 
Jean Winfrey, of Stone Mountain; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  Interment

Mrs. Edna May Vroegindewey, 81, of McDonough passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at the Henry Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Bergen County, N.J. to the late Walter Carlisle and the late Jennie Sisco Carlisle. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Vroegindewey. She was a lifetime member of the VFW in 
New Jersey.  Survivors include her children, Joyce and Dennis Stalter of McDonough, Shirley Kerr of Clayton, N.C., 
and Robert Steeg of Patterson, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Carlisle of 
Wayne, N.J.

MOORE, GORDON
Gordon Moore, 67, of Lawrenceville passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005.  Mr. Moore was a native of Halls, Tenn. 
He obtained his B.S. and Masters Degree in Education from Memphis State University, and a Specialist degree in 
Education from the University of Georgia. He was a successful high school football coach, receiving recognition 
as "Coach of the Year" twice. Mr. Moore retired as Principal of Henry County High  School, which was named 
"Georgia School of Excellence" in 1989, under his dedicated leadership. He served in the Air Force, and the Navy, 
and Air Force Reserves. He was a loving and protective husband, father, and grandfather, who always put his 
family first. He was a caring and generous friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his daughter, 
Tammy Teresa Moore.  Entombment follows in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville.  Survivors include his 
wife of 48 years, Teresa; daughter, Angelita Greene and husband Tim of Lawrenceville; son, Gordon Moore II 
and wife Lisa of Lawrenceville; brothers, Buddy Moore of Halls, Tenn., Max Moore of Memphis, Tenn., and 
Fred Moore of Brighton, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dustin, Kristin, Lori, Cassie Greene, Brittany, Gordon Michael, 
Dakota, and Desiree Moore.

LONDON, ROBERT T.
Robert T. London, age 52, of Jonesboro, died on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005. He was preceded in death by his father, 
Jack London Sr. He is survived by his mother, Frances London, of Jonesboro; sister and brother-in-law, Aileen 
and J.D. Adkins, of Jonesboro; brother, Ramon London, of Jonesboro; and two nephews. Mr. London was a 
member of the Church of Christ in Lake City.  Interment will be at Camp Memorial Park. 

DUNCAN, FLOY JO
Mrs. Floy Jo Duncan, 90, of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005. Mrs. Duncan was a retired retail sales 
manager and was the widow of Mabry Duncan, who was a farmer and rancher in Texas. Mrs. Duncan was a 
member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro since 1977, and she was an active participant in her Sunday School 
class and the "Saints Alive" Senior Citizens program at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.  Surviving are her 
daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Ret. Lt. Col. David Pohl, of Jonesboro, and grandsons, Scott and Eric Pohl.
Graveside services will be at Copperas Cove City Cemetery in Copperas Cover, Texas.

NORTHCUTT, LEONA HAYWOOD
Leona Haywood Northcutt, 65, of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005.  She was preceded in death by 
her father, A.C. Northcutt, two brothers and two sisters.  Survivors include her mother, Kathreen Northcutt; 
daughters, Rebecca McMillian, Mary Chinell, Kathy Evers, and Tammy Jo Justus; sons, James "Jimmy" Haywood 
and Aubrey Haywood; four sisters; three brothers; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and

DANIELSON, LEROY E.
Leroy E. Danielson, 82, of McDonough, Ga. died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Sacred Journey Hospice.  He was an 
avid sports fan and loved to work in his yard. He retired from the United States Army, serving during World War 
II and the Korean conflict. He was born in St. Helens, Ore. to Samuel and Demaris Danielson. He cherished caring 
for his wife and providing for his family.  Leroy Danielson is survived by his wife, Billie S. Danielson of McDonough, 
Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Melissa Danielson of McDonough, Ga.; sister, Margie Mendenhall of 
Vancouver, Wash.; grandchildren, Donald and Kerri Baxter of Jonesborough, Tenn., Aundrea D. and Chris Lea 
of Loganville, Ga., and Heather M. Danielson of Dacula, Ga.; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death 
by his son, Donald E. Baxter, and daughter, Timmye D. Stone.  Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.

in Phenix City, Ala. to the late Harold Edgar Barbee and the late Nannie Franklin Barbee. She was preceded in 
death by her first husband, Ralph E. Griffin, in 1967. She retired after 20 years with Employers Insurance Company 
of Wausau and was a member of McDonough Christian Church.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory 
Gardens in Phenix City, Ala. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Duane McGraw; daughter and son-in-law, 
Dottie and Carlos Montalvo of Puerto Rico; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Paula Griffin of Forsyth; 11 
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Pat Barbee of Phenix City, Ala.

DANIELL, JIM
Mr. Jim Daniell, 61, of Jonesboro passed away at his home Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005.  Mr. Daniell served in the 
United States Army as a member of the Green Berets. Mr. Daniell was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
His service will be on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church in Riverdale with Pastor Chris 
Gilliam officiating.  Survivors include his parents, Jim and Thelma Daniell of Mattoon, Ill.; wife, Pamela Daniell

Mrs. Katherine Lewis "Bobbie" Nix, age 91, of Locust Grove, formerly of Forest Park, passed away Feb. 25, 2005 
at Nurse Care of Buckhead in Atlanta. Mrs. Nix was born June 3, 1913 in Oconee County, S.C., to the late Henry 
Tarlton Lewis and the late Mamie Emilisa Whitmire Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas 
Walter Nix, in 1969. She was a retired waitress and was a member of Ash Street Baptist Church in Forest Park. 
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Patricia Nix, of Locust Grove; grandsons, Douglas L. 
Nix, of Locust Grove, and Gary C. Nix, of Pike County; great-grandchildren, Jennifer L. Fletcher, of Jenkinsburg, 
and James Daniel Nix, of Forest Park; great-granddaughters, Macee S. Nix and Lennox A. Nix; and great-great-
grandson, William Low Swisher IV.  

SMITH, ASA B.
Asa B. Smith, age 91, of Stockbridge, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005. He was born in Cumberland County, Tenn., 
to Granville and Frances Martin Smith. He served as a Merchant Marine and was a retired truck driver.
Asa Smith is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughter, Linda Longino, of Fayetteville; son, Charles Keith Smith, 
of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Jeffrey Longino and Michael Longino, both of Fayetteville; and two great-
grandchildren, Asa and Addison Longino, both of Fayetteville.  Graveside services were held Sunday at 
Fairview Memorial Gardens.

High School, Class of 1979. His father, Michael Arrington Whitwell, preceded him in death.  Survivors include his
