Ben F. Young, Sr., of Albany, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Palmyra Medical 
Center. The memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, october 11, 2006 
at Beattie Road Church of Christ with Ministers Trey Poole, Jere Via and Jerry 
Whitmire officiating. 

A native of Elba, AL, Mr. Young was a member of Beattie Road Church of Christ 
where he was an elder, Sunday school teacher, and song leader. He was also an 
elder at Radium Springs Church of Christ and Director of Thailand Children’s 
Home. Mr. Young was the owner/operator of Ben Young’s Phillips 66 Service 
Center on Oglethorpe until his retirement in 1989 and a member of Georgia 
Association of Petroleum Retailers, and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Young was a 
1943 graduate of Albany High School. 

Mr. Young is survived by his loving wife, Theresa T. Young of Albany; a 
daughter, Truddy Y. Hutchison and her husband Al, Jr. of Rossville, GA; a son, 
Ben F. Young, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Montgomery, AL; four grandchildren: 
Heather H. Sonmez and her husband Ali, Hope A. Hutchison, Sarah A. Young, and 
Ben F. Young, III; one great-grandson, Nathaniel A. Sonmez; and two sisters: 
Florence Gurr and Elmira Dorough, both of Byron, formerly of Albany. The family 
will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors from 5 PM until 7 PM 
Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to 
Beattie Road Church of Christ, 1731 Beattie Road, Albany, GA 31721. Kimbrell-
Stern Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. 

The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2006 
at Kimbrell-Stern Obituary. The memorial service will be held at 11 AM 
Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Beattie Road Church of Christ. Ministers Trey 
Poole, Jere Via, and Jerry Whitmire will officiate.
