Kimbrell Stern - January 23, 2007
Mary Lou Green Stratis, 77, of Albany, Georgia, died on Friday, January 19, 
2007, at Palmyra Park Hospital. A native of Smyrna, Georgia, Mrs. Stratis was 
born July 17, 1929, to the late Forrest and Sally Green. She was the youngest 
of four sisters. She met her husband, Nick, while he was serving in the U. S. 
Navy, and his ship was in port in Havana, Cuba, and she was vacationing in Cuba 
with friends. They enjoyed their overseas tours of duty where they developed 
many lifelong friendships. Nick and Mary were married for 50 years. They were 
married March 31, 1956 at Log Cabin Church in Smyrna, Georgia, where she was a 
member. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. 
Stratis is survived by her son, Marty Stratis, and Susan of Albany; her 
daughter, Tina Wingfield, and her husband, Mike, of Medina, Ohio; and her 
daughter, Linda Aldrich, and her husband, Chris, of Leesburg; sisters, Inez 
Stanton of St. Augustine, Florida, and Lillie Mae Sapp of Tifton; four 
grandchildren: Marty Stratis, Jr., Ryan Stratis, Courtney Greenway, and her 
husband, Greg, and Allie Wingfield; and two step-grandchildren Matthew and 
Hannah Aldrich. Mrs. Stratis was preceded in death by her husband, Anastasios 
Nicholas Stratis, her parents, Forrest and Sally Green, and her sister, Vivian 
Lokey. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home from 
7:00 PM till 8:00 PM.The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 25, 
2007, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. Keith Gaines, 
Associate Pastor of First Baptist of Albany will officiate. A private interment 
service will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery.
