Cecile Bacon Slate
ALBANY — Cecile Bacon Slate, 87, a lifelong resident of Albany, died at her
home on July 12, 2007.
There will be a Memorial Mass Saturday 11 AM at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.
Rev. Finbarr Stanton officiating. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Slate was a 1936 graduate of Albany High School and attended Mt. DeSales
College in Macon, GA. She was a lifelong member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church
and enjoyed a long career as a dental hygienist. She was a member of the
original Hospital League of Albany.
Mrs. Slate was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Katherine Mock
Bacon; her husband, Robert R. Slate, Jr., and daughter, Katherine Cecile Slate.
She is survived by two brothers, James L. Bacon, Jr. and his wife, Anita Bacon,
and Dr. William H. Bacon and his wife, Mary Ellen Bacon.
The family will receive friends immediately after the ceremony in the vestibule
of the church.
