Michael James O’Brien 

ALBANY — Michael James O’Brien, 52, of Albany died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at 
his residence. 

The memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at First United Methodist 
Church with Rev. Mike McAfee officiating. 

Mr. O’Brien was born in Albany and was self-employed as a carpenter and master 
craftsman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was in the 
Sanctuary Choir, The Open Door Sunday School Class, served on the First 
Methodist Mission Team, and was in the Biscuit Boys Devotional Group. Mr. 
O’Brien was also a volunteer for habitat for Humanity. He was preceded in death 
by his father, Jack O’Brien; his mother, Marguerite O’Brien; and a sister, 
Peggy Wiechens. 

Mr. O’Brien is survived by his wife, Elaine Singleton O’Brien; two daughters, 
Emily Jackson and her husband, Anson of Sylvester, and Hannah Beck of Albany; 
two sons, Michael Paul O’Brien of Albany and Leonard Travis “Buddy” O’Brien of 
Leesburg; two brothers, John T. O’Brien and his wife, Beth of Albany and 
Patrick W. O’Brien and his wife, Debbie of Orange Park; four grandchildren; 
mother and father-in-law, Glenn and Charlotte Singleton of Leesburg; brothers-
in-law and sisters-in- law, Aubrey Singleton, Jeff Singleton, Brandi Singleton, 
all of Albany, Anita and Matt Phillips of Mexico Beach, FL, and Charlene Matre 
of Franklin, NC. 

The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors Tuesday, 
from 5 PM until 7 PM.

Mission Team, P.O. Box 448, Albany, GA 31701, or to Albany Community Hospice, 
P.O. Box 1828, Albany, GA 31702.
