Virginia English Newsome

ALBANY — Virginia English Newsome, 90, of Albany, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 
at her residence. 

Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Byne Memorial Baptist Church, 
with Dr. William Sims, III officiating. Interment will be at Crown Hill 
Cemetery.

A native of Gibson, GA, Mrs. Newsome had lived in Albany most of her life. She 
had been a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church since she was 12 years old. 
She was a member of the Faithful Sunday School Class and had worked with the 
Children's Department for over 45 years. She was a member of Albany 
Genealogical Society, AARP, was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Albany 
Outreach Emergency Aid. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.S. Newsome 
and a daughter, Virginia Gail Newsome.

Survivors include two nieces, Martha English McLeod and her husband Eddie, and 
Ruth English Royal and her husband Steve, all of Albany; three nephews, Robert 
L. English and his wife Doris of Dallas, GA, Warren Lee English and his wife 
Margaret of Toccoa, GA, and Henry Wren of Lake Blackshear, GA.

Those desiring may make memorials to "Living the Legacy" at Byne Memorial 
Baptist Church, 2832 Ledo Road, Albany, GA 31707.

The family will be at the residence of Ruth and Steve Royal,  Webb Street and 
will receive friends today (Sunday), from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern.
