The Albany Herald - Obituaries
John H. Mercer

ALBANY — John H. Mercer, 82, of 607 16th Ave., died Monday, December 23, 2002, 
at the residence following an illness.

The funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral 
Directors with interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native and lifelong resident of Albany, Mr. Mercer was retired from Flint 
River Cotton Mills after 41 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, 
having served in the Army Air Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Mercer of Albany; daughter, Diane DenHoed 
and husband John of Putney; son, Johnny T. Mercer and wife Mandy of Leesburg; 
grandchildren, Fay Roberts, Jeff Davis, Steven Davis, Clay Mercer, and Mallary 
Mercer; great-grandchildren, Dana, Shayla and Abigail (Abby).

The family will receive friends at Kimbrell Stern from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday.
