Ralph H. McKendree Sr.
September 12, 1920 - August 04, 2007

Capt. Ralph H. McKendree, Sr. USAF Ret. Passed away on Saturday Aug 4, 2007, he 
was 86 years old. Funeral service will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday Aug 14, 2007 
at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Wyatt 
Pittman, Douglas Watts, and Steve Hurley to officiate. 

He was a resident of Webster County but until 1997 been a resident of Dougherty 
County for 41 years. He was born in Hillsbrough County Florida and attended 
school in Tampa Florida and Clyo, GA. Capt. McKendree enlisted in the Army Air 
Corp. in January 1942 and retired from Turner Air Force Base at Albany, GA in 
January 1962. He owned and operated Mackey’s Moving and Storage co. for some 
years, then retired again. He found that he did not like retirement so he 
worked with the Dougherty Co. Mental retardation Training Center for nine years 
and nine months. While with the center he organized the first work activity 
program for the mentally retarded in the Southwest GA area. In 1978 he was the 
recipient of the outstanding community service award given by the Albany 
Association for Retarded Citizens. He attended The Antioch Baptist Church, 
Richland, GA. He was a member and Past Master of smith Lodge #85 free and 
Accepted Masons. He was also a member of stewart Webster Camp No. 1607, sons of 
Confederate veterans. His wife Helen Cundiff McKendree preceded him in death. 

He is survived by a son, Ralph H. McKendree, Jr. Three daughters, Cheryl M. 
Barthel of Sylvester GA; Cathy M. Watts of Gainsesville, GA and Connie-Lee 
McKendree of Webster Co, GA; a sister Patricia McKendree Stokes of Lakeland FL; 
a brother Carroll Deloach of winter Haven Florida; 10 Grandchildren and Six 
Great Grand Children. Capt. McKendree was a devoted Family man who loved the 
Southland and felt blessed by God to have been born a Southerner. Deo Vindice. 
The family will receive friends Monday Aug 13, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at 
Kimbrell-Stern. 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday Aug 14, 2007 at Kimbrell-Stern 
with interment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Wyatt Pittman, Douglas Watts, 
and Steve Hurley to officiate.The family will receive friends Monday Aug 13,
