Travis L. McCraney

ALBANY — Travis L. McCraney, 82, of 11th Ave., died Friday, August 29, 2003 at 
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Kimbrell-Stern Chapel with 
interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Revs. Ray Bowman and John 
Tarrer will officiate.

A native of Dothan, AL, Mr. McCraney had lived in Albany for more than 40 
years. He was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church for over 40 years and 
was a Sunday School Teacher for 13 years. He was a previous owner of Mac Motor 
Shop in Dothan, AL, and was owner/operator of Sowega Electric Motors in Albany 
since 1953. He was a Past Master for Albany Lodge No. 24 F&AM and also served 
as chaplain of Roamin Winnies for more than 25 years. He was a loving husband, 
father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Ennis McCraney of Albany; two 
daughters, Bobbie McCraney Cox and husband, Ron and June McCraney Pelham, all 
of Albany; four grandchildren, Denise L. Miller and husband, Matt, Daniel 
Thomas Pelham III, Travis L. Pelham, all of Albany, and Gina Pelham Evenhuis 
and husband, Eric of Ogden, UT; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Rose Evenhuis 
and Mason Alexander Evenhuis; a sister, Viola Shelly and husband, Jeffrey of 
Dothan, AL. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Remus McCraney and LaHoma 
McCraney.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
