Date of Death: March 20, 2007  

Alice Edmonds Kirksey, 89, of Albany, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007. Her funeral 
service will be FRIDAY 12:00 PM at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fred 
Nijem officiating. Mrs. Kirksey will be cremated and her cremated remains will 
be buried at Parrott Cemetery, Parrott, GA following the service. 

A native of Hanover, PA, Mrs. Kirksey had lived in Albany since 1957. She was a 
member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church and served on the Board of Happy House 
and the Albany A.R.C. She was an active volunteer with Neighbors In Need, St. 
Clare’s Soup Kitchen, and Meals on Wheels. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow W. “Woody” Kirksey and by her 
son Richard E. “Rick” Kirksey. Survivors include 2 sons: William L. Kirksey and 
his wife Nancy, Stone Mountain, GA, John C. Kirksey and his wife Cindy, 
Norcross; 4 daughters: Elizabeth “Betty” Kirksey, Macon, Susan Kirksey and her 
husband Mike Goetsch, San Francisco, CA, Mary Anne Dykes and her husband Ben, 
Ocean Springs, MS, Nancy K. Carson, Morgan, GA; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-
grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Thursday from 6-7:30 PM 
with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM. Those desiring may send memorials to 
St. Clare’s, P.O. Box 4123, Albany, GA 31706.
