William C. Howerton

ALBANY — T-Sgt William C. (Bill) Howerton, USAF (Ret'd), 83, of Pavo, GA, died 
May 8, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie.

The funeral service will be Thursday 10 AM at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. Russell 
Anglin officiating. Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Mausoleum with full 
military honors.

Mr. Howerton is a native of Abbeville, AL, and is of the Baptist faith. At age 
75, Mr. Howerton married his love of 41 years and moved to Pavo, GA, in 2001. 
He is a former resident of Albany for 38 years and is retired from the United 
States Air Force with 24 years of service, serving during World War II, Korea 
and Vietnam. 

Survivors include his wife, Libby Howerton of Pavo, GA; stepdaughters, Leciena 
Stephens of Pavo, GA, and Libby Diana Riddle of Denver, CO; grandchildren, 
Renee Stephens and Abby Riddle; great-grandchild, Mallory Trull; brothers, 
Thomas J. Howerton and his wife, Pauline of Navarre, FL, and Edward A. Howerton 
and his wife, Patricia of Albany, GA; sisters, Mary Smith of Albany, GA, Lillie 
Rose Cooper of Lexington, SC, and Betty Jean Stein of Yuma, AZ.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 PM until 8 PM at Kimbrell-
Stern and will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Howerton, 509 
Champion Ave., Albany, GA 31705.
