Date of Death: June 17, 2007 

Mildred R. “Midge” Harman, 81 of Albany died Sunday at Lee County Health Care. 
Her funeral service will be 11 AM Wednesday at Sherwood Baptist Church with a 
private interment to follow. Mr. Ross Powell, Rev. Tom Pollock, Rev. Tony 
Haefs, and Dr. William Eidenire will officiate. 

A native of Williamson, WV, Mrs. Harman has lived in Albany since 1957. She was 
member of Sherwood Baptist Church since 1958 and worked for 38 years in the 
toddler, Pre-School and Bed Baby wing keeping children, and was an honorary 
member of the Ladies Adult Sunday School Department Classes. She retired in 
1991 from the Albany Public Works following more than 20 years of service as 
dispatcher and in July of 1992 was awarded Georgia Chapter of the American 
Public Works Association employee of the year. She was a member of the Gideon’s 
Auxiliary, Mended Hearts and a volunteer at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and a sister. 

She is survived by: W.C. “Bill” Harman her husband of 61 years of Albany; her 
daughter Peggy Louise Harman Branch and husband James of Albany; 3 
grandchildren: Chris S. McSwain and wife Joy of Albany, Ashley D. McSwain and 
wife Lesa of UT and William Wesley “Wes” Branch of Albany, 4 great-
grandchildren: Pete McSwain, Melody McSwain, Blake McSwain and Connor McSwain, 
a brother Ralph Jackson Richardson and wife Ann of Bluefield WV, and a sister 
Maxine R. Cardwell of Macon. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday 5 PM to 7 PM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral 
Directors. To those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon’s 
International, Albany Camp #1001, P.O Box 1823, Albany GA 31702, or Mended 
Hearts Inc., Chapter 165, P.O. Box 70801, Albany, GA 31708 or Sherwood Baptist 
Church, 2201 Whispering Pines Rd., Albany, GA 31707 or to the charity of your 
choice. 

Her funeral service will be 11 AM Wednesday at Sherwood Baptist Church with a 
private interment to follow. Mr. Ross Powell, Rev. Tom Pollock and Dr. William 
Eidenire will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday June 19, 2007, 
5 PM to 7 PM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.
