Roger L. Haler 

ALBANY — Roger L. Haler 54, of Albany, formerly of Memphis, TN, died Wednesday, 
December 20, 2006 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital following an illness. 

Mr. Haler a native of Memphis, TN, had lived in Albany for the past 11 years. 
He was a graduate of Catholic High School in Memphis and State Tech. Institute 
of Memphis. He attended Memphis State and Albany Tech in Albany. He served his 
country proudly as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He was a Boy 
Scout leader in Memphis, TN, a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus 
in Albany, and a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. He was employed at 
MCLB in Albany and was formerly employed at the Old Defense Depot in Memphis, 
TN. He participated in the National Veteran Wheelchair games in Los Angeles and 
in St. Louis, bringing home several medals. He was nominated for the 
Outstanding Department of Navy Employee with Disabilities Award in 2006. 

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alice Lee Haler; son, Jeremy Scott 
Haler and daughter, Selena Carol Haler, all of Albany; his brother, Bill Haler 
of Atoka, TN; stepfather, J.C. Pyron of Selmer, TN, and his stepmother, Diann 
Haler of Dothan, AL. 

The family will receive friends 5 PM to 7 PM, Friday at Kimbrell- Stern Funeral 
Directors and The Rev. Finbarr Stanton will conduct a Prayer Service at 7 PM. 
His funeral mass will be conducted Wednesday at The Church of The Nativity in 
Bartlett, TN.
