Obituary - 21 Jan 1963  Mrs. J. W. Pye Succumbs in City

  Mrs. J. W. Pye, 71, a lifelong resident of Lee County, died Saturday night at 
her home following an illness.
  She was born Dec. 15, 1891, in Lee County and was a member of Thundering 
Springs Baptist Church.
  Survivors include her husband: four daughters, Mrs. Ellen Stocks of Leesburg, 
Mrs Kenneth Gaumer of Allentown, Pa., Mrs.  B. E. Stripling and Mrs Phillip W. 
Gralley, both of Albany; three sons, H. Glynn Pye and J. W. Pye, Jr., both of 
Albany, and William A. Pye of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. C. J. 
Coston of Leesburg and Mrs. Pauline McDonald of Albany; three brothers, Tom 
Howell, Rob Howell and William Howell, all of Albany, and six grandchildren and 
one great-grandchild.
  The funeral service will be conducted today at 3 p. m. in Thundering Springs 
Baptist Church by the pastor, the Rev. W. T. Berry, assisted by the Rev. R. H. 
Forrester of Leesburg.  Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Cemetery. 
Pallbearers will be Jack Garrett, Mack Knight, Royace B. Hinson, Clayton 
Howell, Lester Reed and Arthur Tyson.
  Kimbrell-Stern, funeral directors, are in charge of arrangements.
