Crowley Jr. ALBANY — Ernest Z. Crowley Jr. died Monday, February 16, 2004, at Palmyra Medical Centers. The funeral service will be 3 PM today at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Nathan Godley and the Rev. Nancy Scarbrough officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. A native of Homestead, FL, Mr. Crowley a lifetime resident of Albany, was employed at C&S Bank of Albany and retired as Senior Vice-President of C&S Bank in Atlanta. He served his country by serving in World War II and later served in the U.S. Army Reserve and the National Guard, retiring as Major. He was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church and was a previous member of First United Methodist for more than 60 years, and was an avid golfer and gardener. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Sue Crowley and a son, James Stephen Crowley. Survivors include his wife, of 59 years, Jean Momand Crowley; two sons, Robert Ernest Crowley and wife, Emily of Greenville, MS, and Tom Crowley and wife, Gail of Albany; six grandchildren, Ashley Winterstein of Atlanta, Kris Crowley of Atlanta, Anne Elizabeth Crowley of Greenville, MS, Chad Crowley of Albany, Courtney Walker of Albany and Kim Kestings of Nashville, TN, and three great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until the funeral hour at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church.
