John J. Burke Sr.

ALBANY — John J. Burke Sr., 80, of Cumming, GA, died Wednesday, November 27, 
2002.

His remains have been cremated and a memorial service will be held Friday, 10 
a.m. at Crown Hill Mausoleum. The Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate.

A native of Boston, MA, Mr. Burke was a former resident of Albany where he was 
owner and operator of the IHOP Restaurant in the 70's and early 80's. He was an 
avid golfer and a member of Doublegate Country Club. He attended Boston College 
where he played football. During his football career he played in the Orange 
Bowl against the University of Alabama. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army 
serving in both WW II and Korea.

Survivors include a son, John Burke Jr. and his wife, Gail of Cumming; a 
brother, Mike Burke of Boston, MS, and two grandchildren, Ashley and Lauren.
