Kimbrell Stern - 2004
Date of Birth: April 17, 1927  
Date of Death: March 24, 2004  

Guerry was born on Easter of 1927 in Early County, GA. She grew up in the 
Blakely and Cedar Spring area and moved to Panama City where she graduated from 
Bay County High School in 1944. She enjoyed a life rich in experiences. She 
began working as a secretary in the legal profession in Panama City and later 
in Georgia. In 1948, displaying the independence she had been well known for; 
she moved to Albany and joined the civil service to work at Turner Air Force 
Base. Here she met and, in 1952 married Bob Gardner a Major in the US Air 
Force. In 1959, the Air Force moved the young family to Buenos Aires, 
Argentina. While living in Tennessee in the 60''s, she opened her own business, 
The Klothes House and an associated shoe store. Later, she rejoined the service 
and rose to be the senior administrative assistant for the Government''s Senior 
Scientist at an installation in Tennessee and again at one in Florida. Her 
service career spanned over 20 years when she retired in the 80''s in Destin 
Florida. She remarried following the earlier death of her husband of 28 years. 
After moving to Louisiana and South Florida, she returned to Destin in 2001 
after 14 years of married life with Alan Bunn and became active in the Destin 
Women''s Club, was a volunteer at Sacred Heart Hospital and a member of the 
Destin United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nell 
S. Chandler and Sarah S. Cain.  

A memorial service will be held at 5 PM Friday, March 26 at Kimbrell-Stern. 
Rev. Keith Travis will officiate. The interment service will be held at 1 PM 
(CST) Saturday, March 27, at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
