Her funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Kimbrell-Stern. The Rev. Dr. James M. Ramsey will officiate. A private family burial will follow. A native of Albany, she was a member of First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with the Albany Humane Society. Survivors include her companion, Rudy Sims of Albany; mother and stepfather, Dianne and Keith Gaines of Albany; father and stepmother, Jim and Niwana Briggs of Savannah; a brother, James Briggs of Savannah; grandparents, Jim and Barbara Briggs of Albany, Annette Baker of Thomasville, and Carolyn Alexander of Georgetown, GA, David and Nell Gaines of Macon; great-grandmother, Jewel Baker of Thomasville; stepbrothers, Shawn Gaines and his wife Beth of Leesburg, Jeremy Gaines of Albany; nieces, Angelica Briggs of Savannah and Madison Gaines of Leesburg; nephew, Garrett Gaines of Leesburg; aunts, Joanne Cummings of Thomasville, Terry Deloache and her husband Marcus of Albany; cousins, Shane and Chad Houston, Loren Deloache, all of Albany. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Thursday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour. Those desiring may send memorials to Graceway Recovery Residence for Women, 412 W.
