Jeanette Burnette Ward Bius, 84, a lifetime resident of Albany, died Friday, 
December 15 in a Kingstree, SC nursing home. The family will receive friends 
Monday, December 18, 2006, from 6PM to 8PM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors. 
The funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Byne Memorial 
Baptist Church. Rev. Ed Ouimette and Dr. William H. Simms III will officiate 
and the interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. 

Mrs. Bius was born June 1 1922 in Mitchell County, GA., a daughter of the late 
Morton and Pearl Thomas Burnette. She was a graduate of Albany High School and 
Perry Business College and for 40 years was a faithful employee and bookkeeper 
for Ed Edmonds Floor Covering in Albany. Mrs. Bius was a Sunday School Teacher 
and member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church and had served as PTA President in 
the Dougherty County School system. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ward and Hugh Bius. 

She is survived by her son, Dale Morton Ward of Luthersville; her daughters and 
their spouses, Barbara Jo and Walker Cook of Griffin and Peggy and Ed Ouimette 
of Kingstree, SC, grandchildren: Joy Cook Kulp of Griffin, Walker Cook, Ill of 
Birmingham, AL, Toni Ward Speaks and Ansley Ward Wilkes of Atlanta, Elizabeth 
Ouimette Ranheim of St. Louis, MO., and Emily Ouimette of Nashville, TN, great-
grandchildren: Hannah Kulp, Tripp Kulp and Elizabeth Kulp of Griffin and Maelin 
Tang, Josi Wilkes and Noah Wilkes of Atlanta. Her grandchildren affectionately 
called her “Granny Pie”. Her seventh great grandchild is scheduled to be born 
in January. 

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Byne Memorial Baptist Church, 2832 
Ledo Road, Albany, GA, 31707 or Mouzon Presbyterian Church, 2281 Sumter 
Highway, Kingstree, SC 29556.
