Verna R. Belflower

ALBANY — Verna R. Belflower, 91, of Albany, died Thursday, June 
15, 2006, at her home.

Her funeral service will be Monday 2 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern. The 
Rev. Dr. William E. (Butch) Knight will officiate. Interment 
services will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at Oakridge Cemetery, Tifton.

A native of Crisp County,she was a longtime resident of Albany. Mrs. Belflower 
was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany, was an avid bridge player, 
and
was very active at the Albany YMCA. She was retired from Phoebe Putney Memorial 
Hospital. 
She was preceded in death by four brothers, and by her husband, Jack E. 
Belflower.

Survivors include a son, Estol Belflower and his wife Beth of Juneau, 
Alaska; a daughter, Janet Hegenderfer and her husband Don, of 
Glendale, Arizona; two sisters, Lila Ray and Nelta Shiver, both of 
Cordele. Mrs. Belflower is also survived by a circle of loving 
friends and caregivers that enabled her to remain in her own home.
