Enzor LeRoy Beckham

ALBANY — Enzor LeRoy Beckham, 63, of Golf Course Drive died Tuesday, October 1, 
2002, at his residence.

The funeral service will be Friday 4 PM at Sherwood Baptist Church Chapel with 
a private interment service to follow. Dr. Michael Catt will officiate.

A native of Crestview, FL, he had lived in Albany since 1943. Mr. Beckham 
attended Albany schools, and was a graduate of Albany High School in 1957. He 
was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. He graduated from Emory at Oxford and 
received his JD degree at Mercer Law School in 1963. He was a member of Alpha 
Tau Omega Fraternity. Mr. Beckham was employed at Southeastern Mortgage Corp. 
from 1968 to 1982. Following that, he worked at the Credit Bureau of Southwest 
Georgia. He was President of First Federal Mortgage from 1983 to 1990, then 
worked with Sun Trust & Nations Banc Mortgage from 1990 to 1996. Mr. Beckham 
formed Georgia First Mortgage, now a subsidiary of Colony Bankshares, in 1996 
and served as its President.

He served as President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia. He was a 
member of the Albany Sertoma Club, where he served as President and also 
President of the Past Presidents Club. Mr. Beckham also served as President of 
the Association of Credit Executives of Albany.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Moody Beckham of Albany; son, Keith LeRoy 
Beckham and his wife, Catherine of Dawson; daughter, Karen Kinsey Beckham of 
Atlanta; and a grandson, Charles Griffin Beckham.

The family will receive friends today from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Kimbrell-
Stern.
