                L. I. Beatty
  The funeral service of Lester I. Beatty, 73, of 405 Lumpkin St., who died 
Wednesday, will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at Kimbrell-Stern with 
interment at 2 p.m. in Prosperity Cemetery in Taylor County.
  A native of Early County, Mr. Beatty had lived in Albany 41 years and was 
the former owner and operator of Albany Shoe Repair.  He was a member of Grace 
Primitive Baptist Church.  A Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Beatty was also 
a member of the Barr Allen Post 2785 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was 
past commander of the Military Order of the Cooties.
  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma W. Beatty of Albany; two sisters, 
Mrs. Ruby Garfield and Mrs. Emma Grimsley, both of Dothan, Ala.; and two 
gradddaughters.
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be amde to a favorite charity.
