The funeral service will be Thursday, 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern with interment at Mars Hill Cemetery in Edison, GA. A native of Cordele, GA, Mr. Bass was raised in Albany. After retiring from the Navy, he moved back to Albany for several years before moving to Smyrna, GA, and then to Cartersville, GA. Mr. Bass had retired from the Navy in 1971 after thirty years of service and then he retired from Lockhead after ten years of service where he was an electrician. Survivors include two sons, Mitchell Bass and Mark Bass, both of Kennesaw, GA; two grandchildren, Robert and Rebecca Bass of Kennesaw, GA; a brother, Haywood Bass of Albany; two sisters, Ruby Bass Matson Brame of Newnan, GA, and Edna Bass Johns Adams of Albany. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Carrie Bass. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 PM to 8 PM.
