(Byrd) Anderson, 101 of 1210 Gordon Ave. in Albany died October 14, 2004 at her daughter’s residence in Albany. The funeral service will be Saturday 2 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dale Thornton officiating. A native of Spartanburg, SC, Mrs. Anderson has lived in Albany since 1952, where she was a member of Avalon United Methodist Church and a retired Elementary School Teacher from the Dougherty County School System. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the National retired Teachers Association and the Dougherty County Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Anderson was also a graduate of Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. Survivors include her son, Jon E. Anderson of Tuscaloosa, AL, daughter, Bettye McRanie of Albany, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister, Virginia Boesche of Tacoma, WA Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her sister Miriam McKinney who died October 2, 2004 The family will receive friends following the service.
