"W. L. Lee, 58,  Succumbs Here"

W. L. Lee, 58, 1110 Whispering Pines Rd. died Thursday night in Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital following an illness. Mr. Lee had been a resident of Albany
for the past 26 years and at the time of his death was associated with 
Churchwell's Department Store.
He was born Jan 28, 1906 in Bakerhill, Ala. son of the late Gus I. and Mamie
Vickers Lee. Mr. Lee was a member of the Belcher Bethel Baptist Church in 
Bakerhill, but attended the First Baptist Church of Albany and was a member
of the Keystone Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Ruby Jernigan of Bakerhill; a
daughter Mrs. Richard H. West, Dawson; a son, Edward Lee, Greensboro, N. C.;
three brothers, Hilton and Floyd Lee, both of Albany, and Burness Lee, 
Abbeville, Ala. and two grandchildren Richard Tod West and Edward Lee Jr.
Funeral services will be Saturdy at 3 p.m. (CST) in Belcher Bethel Baptist
Church, Bakerhill, Ala. Interment will follow in Belcher Bethel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jerome Trammell, Nelton Jernigan, Armour Joe Jernigan,
William J. Kelly, J. B. Banks and Willie Gurr.
The family has requested that flowers be sent, but those desiring my make
contributions to the heart fund. The body is at the residence.
Kimbrell-Stern, funeral directors are in charge of arrangements.
