Clinton Mathis - passed away 7/15/1961

Clinton Mathis, 54, of 533 Pine Ave., died Saturday night in Phoebe Putney Hospital 
after an illness.  Mr. Mathis was born Jan. 14, 1907, in Calhoun County, the son of
 the late Doia Harris and Noel Lee Mathis.
He had been a resident of Albany for the past 40 years, and prior to his retirement 
was associated with Orkin.  He was a member of the Morgan baptist Church.  He is survived 
by his wife, the former Miss Vera Warren of Albany, a daughter, 
Mrs. J.W. Nev___ of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. M.A. Reeves of Albany, 
Mrs. A.H. McDonald of MacClenny, Fl, and Mrs. S.E. Stephenson of St. Simon's Island; 
two brothers, H.F. and W.S. Mathis, both of Albany, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. in the Kimbrell-Stern chapel with 
Dr. J. Frederick ______, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating.  
Internment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Richard Farris, 
Hugh Jordan, Danny Smith, Grady Railey, Harry Spurling and C.P. Rolling.
