                            Laurel Brewer Creech

        Laurel Brewer Creech, 52, died Saturday, March 25, 2000.
        A native of Fitzgerald, Mrs. Creech was a daughter of Jake E.
     and Lois Mitchell Brewer Jr. She was a member of First Presbyterian
     Church, Fitzgerald, and Alpha Delta Kappa. She was a first-grade
     teacher at Whit Davis Road Elementary School, Athens, and had
     taught school in Macon and Fitzgerald. She was a 1965 graduate of
     Fitzgerald High School, received an undergraduate degree from
     Georgia Southern College and a master's degree from the University
     of Georgia.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian
     Church, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Don Cooke officiating. Burial
     will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
        Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband,
     Jamie Creech; three sons, Scott Willis, Cumming, Brice Willis,
     Athens, and David Creech, Atlanta; and three sisters, Beth Gould,
     St. Simons Island, Mary Stacey, Dover, Tenn., and Lynn Woodsworth,
     Fitzgerald.
        Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice,
     Humane Society or to First Presbyterian Church, Fitzgerald.
        The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Paulk
     Funeral Home, Fitzgerald.

                           Marjorie Fairey Haston
                           Pawleys Island, S.C. 
                                      
        Marjorie Fairey Haston, 74, formerly of Jacksonville, Fla.,
     Athens and Clayton, died Saturday, March 25, 2000.
        A native of Orangeburg, S.C., Mrs. Haston was a daughter of
     Marjorie Houston Fairey and the late William F. Fairey and was the
     widow of Dr. Hugh Haston Jr. She was a member of Ortegan United
     Methodist Church and Timuquana Country Club, Jacksonville.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pawleys Island Presbyterian
     Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
        Survivors, in addition to her mother, include four daughters,
     Marjorie H. Dannelly, Independence, Va., Deborah H. Mickler,
     Columbia, S.C, Holly M. Haston and Kathryn H. Walsefield, both of
     Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Hugh B. Haston III, Jacksonville; a
     brother, Dr. William F. Fairey Jr., Pawleys Island; and 10
     grandchildren.

        Ed Nessmith, 51, of 163 Stoneybrook Court died Sunday, March 26,
     2000.
        A native of Montgomery, Ala., Mr. Nessmith was a son of the late
     Reginald and Edith Marie Storey Nessmith. He was an
     illustrator/photographer at the U.S. Navy Supply Corps School and
     was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a gardener and artist.
        Services will be announced later.
        Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Nessmith; a daughter, Cynthia
     Kaye Nessmith, Crossville, Ala.; a sister, Sue Bailey, Warner
     Robins; a brother, Tom Nessmith, Atlanta; and a granddaughter.

        Edythe Simmons, 98, died Sunday, March 26, 2000.
        A native of Monroe County, N.Y., Miss Simmons was a daughter of
     the late Esbon and Elizabeth Gaston Simmons. She was employed in
     the circulation department of Anderson Independent for a number of
     years and was a member of Toccoa First Alliance Church.
        Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Toccoa City Cemetery with
     the Rev. Edwin Simmons, officiating.
        Survivors include two nephews, David Simmons, Westminster, and
     the Rev. Edwin Simmons, Hartwell.
        The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. today at
     Acree-Davis Funeral Home.

        Barbara Willingham Wilson, 63, of 115 Beaver Run Road died
     Sunday, March 26, 2000.
        Mrs. Wilson was a daughter of the late Ambus and Lessie P.
     Willingham and was the widow of Matt Wilson. She was preceded in
     death by a daughter and a son. She was a homemaker.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Springfield Baptist
     Church, Comer, with Pastor Debra Price and the Rev. Horace Ellison
     officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial
     will be in Pleasant Hill Church cemetery.
        Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Pope, Athens, Touring
     Howard, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Laura Ann Skelton, Comer; four
     sons, Michael C. Wilson, Athens, Tony Wilson and Welton Wilson,
     both of Winterville, and Gene B. Wilson, Chattanooga; and a sister,
     Jeannette Skelton, Comer.
        The family is at the residence.

     supervisor, was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U.S.
     Navy.

        Guy Leon Gravitt, 50, of 51 Northwood Circle died Friday, March

        A native of Jackson County, Mr. Gravitt was a son of the late
     John Henry and Bertie Wood Gravitt and was the widower of Juanita
     Kittle Gravitt. He was retired as a security guard from Georgia
     Security and was of the Baptist faith.
        Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethabara
     Cemetery, Monroe, with the Rev. Jack Lindsey officiating.
        Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Kerr, Colbert, and Peggy
     Bryant, Statham.
