        Everton Chambers, 42, of 115 Willow St., died Thursday, April
     20, 2000.
        A native of Jamaica, Mr. Chambers was a son of Myrtle Chambers.
        Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Pompey's Chapel Baptist
     Church cemetery, Washington, with the Rev. W.R. Ferrell
     officiating.
        Survivors include a daughter, Latashia Ervin, Douglasville; a
     son, Devon Ervin, Douglasville; a sister, Brenda Kennedy,
     Washington; and two brothers, Ansley Chambers, Tampa, Fla., and
     Gardner T. Dalton, Washington.

        Annie Lou Booth Rich, 87, of 25 Mathis Road, died Saturday,
     April 22, 2000.
        A native of Madison County, Mrs. Rich was a daughter of the late
     William Singleton and Carrie Carter Booth, was the widow of Charles
     L. Rich, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Margie R.
     Brown and Mildred R. Harris. She was retired from Georgia
     Sportswear and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Providence Baptist Church
     with the Revs. Johnny Tucker and Albert Vaughn officiating. The
     body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will in the
     church cemetery.
        Survivors include three sisters, Ruby M. Weeks, Fairfax, Va.,
     Nellie B. Watson, Danielsville, and Addie B. Wilson, Greenville,
     S.C.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
        Pallbearers will be Billy Booth, Bobby Booth, Wesley Chandler,
     Tim Hardman, Jr. McGee, D.L. Mealor, Jr. Shields and Nelson
     Stovall.

     Hull, with the Rev. Gazzara Mitchell officiating. The body will be
     placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church
     cemetery.
        Survivors include a daughter, Margie Yearby, Athens; three
     sisters, Mamie L. Crawford and Juanita Johnson, both of Athens, and
     Myra Johnson, Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Roy Johnson,
     Sarasota, Fla., Fordie Johnson, Athens, and John Henry Johnson,
     Decatur; a grandchild; three great-grandchildren; six

        David Melburn Segars, 71, of 1182 Garland Road, died Saturday,
     April 22, 2000.
        A native of Franklin County, Mr. Segars was a son of the late
     Stephen David and Sallie Carroll Segars, and was preceded in death
     by a son, William David Segars. He was retired from Harmony Grove
     Mills and was a volunteer fireman with Pocataligo Fire Department.
     He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church
     with the Revs. David Sosebee, Jimmy Owensby and Dillard Austin
     officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
        Survivors include his wife, Reba McKie Segars; a daughter, Inez
     Hembree, Maysville; three sons, Troy Segars, Homer, Wayne Segars,
     Lincolnton, and Kenneth Segars, Danielsville; seven grandchildren;
     and seven great-grandchildren.
        Pallbearers will be Wade Segars, Scotty Segars, Edward Segars,
     Jeff Segars, Jonathan Segars and Stephen Segars. Honorary
     pallbearers will be members of the Pocataligo Fire Department.
        The family will be at the residence and will receive friends
     Sunday afternoon and night.

        Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church
     of Winder with the Rev. John Richardson officiating. Burial will be
     in Rose Hill Cemetery.
        Survivors include two daughters, Betsy R. Pritchard, Canton, and
     Melissa Donaldson, Ellijay; a son, W.H. Robinson III, Rome; two
     sisters, Helen Bachelder, Athens, and Myrna Morris, Winder; a
     brother, Allen Bentley, Monroe; six grandchildren; and six
     great-grandchildren.

     will be in Level Grove Cemetery.
        Survivors include his wife, Latrella Scott; a son, Victor L.
     Scott, Alto; three sisters, Bertha Davis, Easley, S.C., Ninia
     Mayfield, Toccoa, and Mary Broner, Cornelia; three brothers, Amos
     Scott, Cartersville, Herschel Scott, Baltimore, and Barkely Scott,

     Legion and the VFW. He was the Sunday School Treasurer and member

     Dr. Jim Ross officiating.
        Survivors include his wife, Kathryn B. Lomax; a son, Kirby

        Mrs. Sarah Margaret Dixon Brown, 82, of 1246 Shirley Rd.,
     Royston, Georgia died Friday, April 21, 2000 at Cobb Memorial
     Hospital in Royston, Georgia.
        Mrs. Brown was born in Elbert County, July 21, 1917 daughter of
     the late Joe and Alice Colvard Dixon. She was a homemaker and of
     the Baptist faith. Her husband was the late Robert N. Brown.
        Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Gloria
     Brown, Royston, Georgia; a granddaughter, Suzanne Brown, Royston,
     Georgia; two sisters, Willie Pearson and Hattie Hall, both of
     Royston, Georgia; a brother, Robert Dixon, Royston, Georgia; she
     was preceded in death by one son, Robert Michael Brown.
        Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23,
     2000 at the Chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Williard
     Crider officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Shoal Baptist
     Church cemetery.
        The family is at the home of Tim and Gloria Brown, 1232 Shirley
     Road, Royston, Georgia.

        Mr. William C. ''Billy'' Reynolds, age 72, 298 Lenox Road,
     passed away Saturday, April 22, 2000.
        A native of Warren County, Mr. Reynolds had lived here in Clarke
     County most of his life. He was the son of the late Alfred C. and
     Effie Lexie Askew Reynolds. He was retired from the Benson Bread
     Company after 43 years as a route salesman. He was a member and
     deacon of the Central Baptist Church.
        Survivors include his wife, Vivian Williams Reynolds, Athens;
     son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Deborah Reynolds, Nicholson;
     son, Richard Reynolds, Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and
     Chad Hargrave, Woodstock; and daughter, Karen Archer, Athens;
     sisters, Ruby Smith and Myrtle Ray, both of Athens and Mattie
     Couch, Tyron; nine grandchildren; and a number of nieces and
     nephews.
        Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, from
     the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with the Revs. Randy Smith,
     Horace Couch and Robert Passmore officiating. Interment will follow
     in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
        Pallbearers will be Junior Askew, Benny English, Ned Couch, Rick
     Smith, Bobby Williams and Danny Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will
     be C.P. Shaw, Ben Vaughn, Kenneth Hammond, Harold Sorrow, Chandler
     Ray and Ed Gulley.
        The family will receive friends Sunday evening at Bernstein from
     7-9 p.m.

                       Jessie Henrietta Beusse Bright
                                Mancos Co. 
                                      
        Henrietta Bright, 96, passed away April 20, 2000, at the Valley
     Inn Nursing Home in Mancos, Co., where she had lived since 1993.
     Henrietta was a very loving, caring friend to many who will truly
     miss her.
        Henrietta was born September 8, 1903 in Athens, Ga., to Jessie
     (Middlebrooks) and Jesse Hoyt Beusse. She graduated Athens High
     School in 1920; attended Glen Eden in CT and the University of
     Georgia where she was a Phi Mu; graduated from St. Luke's Hospital
     School of Nursing, Richmond, Va. She worked as a Registered Nurse
     in Va. and S.C. hospitals.
        In 1937 she married Graham Bernard Bright of Richmond. A former
     professor at V.P.I. (now Va. Tech) in Blacksburg, Va., Graham had
     served in WWI and later served in WWII. After his death in 1947,
     she lived and worked in Beckley, W.V., where she was a member of
     St. Stephen's Episcopal Church (1950-63).
        Returning to Athens, she was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal
     Church (1963-93) and most recently St. Paul's in Mancos, Co.
        She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Jesse
     Beusse; brother Thomas C. Beusse; husband Col. Graham B. Bright;
     grandson Phillip Andrew Steckel. She is survived by daughter Rita
     Graham Bright and son-in-law Don Lathrop of Hesperus, Co.;
     granddaughters Jesseka Zeleike of Tucson, AZ., and Julie Wren of
     Boulder, Co.; sister Ruth Beusse of Athens; sister-in-law, Anna
     Belle Beusse and nephew Tom Beusse of Athens; cousins Dorothy Hogue
     Nicholas of Celloden, W.V.; Ann Cabaniss of Athens; and Tom Greer
     of Dalton, Ga.
        At her request, there will be cremation and interment of ashes
     at Arlington National Cemetery. Death was due to natural causes.
        Ertel Funeral Home, Cortez, Colo., has charge of the
     arrangements.
