Jackson, and a son, Taylor Jackson. Survivors: her sons

WADE Pauline Lackey Wade, 84, of Douglasville died Dec.
30, 2002. Born Jan. 2m 1918, Akron, Ohio, d/o the late
Ira and Ollie Bell Robinson Lackey. She was a Methodist
and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Wade, one
sister and four brothers. Survivors: her daughter and
son-in-law, Barbara and Edwin Hembree of Douglaville;
four brothers, three grandchildren, 10 great-
grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

WAGES Barbara W. Wages, 69, of 91 Conner Drive, Villa
Rica, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002. Born Feb. 10, 1933, a
native of Atlanta, d/o the late Lamar Williams and Nell
Williams. She was Catholic by faith and was retired
from BellSouth. Survivors: her husband Bill Wages;

Born May 19, 1929, Carroll Co., d/o Ralph Moore and
Ruth Cadwell Moore. She was the chiel dietitian for
Tanner Medical Center for 26 years and retired from the
Bowdon Area Hospital after 10 years of service. She
also was a Member of Peachtree Baptist Church. She was
preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ronald D.

Elementary School having served as a lunch room lady

Mrs. Eleanor Sheats HUBBARD, age 88, of Marietta, Ga.,
died on January 2, 2003. Born d/o Irma Brock Sheats and
Warren Harry Sheats. She was a 1932 graduate of
Carrollton High School, attended Shorter College and
graduated from the University of Alabama, a member of
Alpha Gamma Sorority. She enjoyed gardening, bridge,
travel and golf. She was a member of  the Ladies Golf
Assoc. of Newnan Country Club, Newnan Hospital
Auxiliary, Central Baptist Church and a long-time
Sunday School teacher, a member of Reading Circle and
taught Adult Education Classes. She was preceded in
death by her Husband, Richard Buel ( Slick) Hubbard
Jr., son Harry Sheats Hubbard, and daughter Frances
Eleanor Hubbard. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law,
Richard Buel  (Janet) Hubbard III  of Marietta, and Dr.
Charles N. (Marilyn)  Hubbard of Carrollton;
grandchildren Richard Buel Hubbard IV, Elizabeth Lynn

She organized the Villa Rica Community Club. Besides
her parents and husband, she was precede in death by
two daughters, Jeanette Marsh and Mary A. Lee; two
sisters, Willie Chism and Ada Geter: five grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren. Survivors: her children
and their spouses, Fred (Sinh) Bairly of Milan, N.M.

Henry Olin FOSTER SR., 93, of Douglasville, died
January 3, 2003. Born July 4, 1909, in Cook Springs,
Ark., s/o the late Cornelious Foster and Etta Webster
Foster. He retired from Georgia Power Co., as a lineman
and was A NAVY VETERAN OF WORLD WAR II.  He was a
member of Douglasville Second Baptist Church and a
deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chloe
Glenice Huddleston Foster. Survivors: her son, H. O.
Foster, Jr. opf Lilburn: step-son, Waler Elmer Arthur
of Bowdon; sisters, Mary Stokes of Marietta and Lucille

CRAWFORD Wilbur W. Crawford, 80, of 929 Wayside Road,
Carrollton, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003. Born Sept. 9,
1922, Carroll Co., Ga. s/o the late Stonewall Jackson
Crawford and Pearlie Boatright Crawford. He was a
member of Bethany Christian Church. He retired from
Ford Motor Co., after 30 years in the auto assembley
plant in Hapeville. He was a member of United Auto
Workers and WAS AN ARMY VETERAN OF WORLD WAR II.

Crawford; daughter, Lynn Crawford; daughter and son-in-

Fla., died Jan. 3, 2003. Mr. Deason moved to
Steinhatchee in March 2002 from Carrollton, where he
was employed as a meat cutter for Kroger for 15 yrs. He
was a member of the Jena First Baptist Church in Jena,
Fla and a member of the Masonic Lodge 322 in

GOTT Dr. Prentice Lay Gott, 74, of Bowling Green, Ky.,
died Jan. 4, 2003. son of the late Amos Guffey Gott and
Gertrude Lay Gott. He was a native of Warren Co. and a
retired professor and farmer. He recieved an
undergraduate and graduatedegree from Western Kentucky
University and was a recipient of a doctorate degree
from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. After
serving several principal and superintendent postions
he joined West Georgia College as an associate
professor of education. In 1968 he ebcame professor and
head of the Dept. of Teacher Education. He Served as
assistant dean of the college of Education at West
Geroga College. He was awarded the status of professor
emeritus on behalf of the college and univeristies of
the State of Georgia in 1985 and in 1998 was given the
State University of West Georgia's Outstanding Retired
Professor award. He was a member and former elder of
Lehman Avenue Church of Christ. Survivors: wife,
Virginia Kirkpatrick Gott; sons, Kerry Rheat Gott of
Gadsden, Ala., and John Kelly Gott of Bowling Green;

Couch Hembree. He was a lifetime resident of this area
andSERVED IN THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE DURING WORLD
WAR II.  He was a self-employed residential building
contractor for 35 yrs. before retiring. He was a member
of the Georgia Sheriff's Boys Ranch and a life member
of Disabled american Veterans and a member of the
Commanders club of Disabled American Veterans. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a

1934, Acworth, d/o the late Jesse Lemon Smith and the
late Mrs. Mamie Louise Smith. She was a Security guard
for Southwire Company for a number of years and was of
the Baptist faith. Survivors: her husband, Hubert G.

Jan. 28, 2003. A native of Atlanta he atteneded
Kennesaw State University. He was a residential and
commercial carpenter and attended St. Catherine of iena

HARDIMAN Robert Berry Hardiman, 74, of Villa Rica, died
Jan. 26, 2003. Born May 13, 1928, Nashville, Tenn., s/o
the late Odus B. Hardiman and the late Mrs. Calley
Bumpus Hardiman. Hew was a member of St. Pius Catholic
Church in conyers and a civel engineer for the Rockdale
Co. D.O.T. He received a bachelor's degree in civil
enjineering from Tennessee Tech in Cookville, Tenn, in
1955. HE SERVED IN THE U.S. ARMY DURING THE KOREAN
CONFLICT. Survivors: his wife of 44 years, Dorothy

Jan. 29, 2003 at Tanner Medical Center. Born May 23,
1940, Carroll Co., s/o the late Albert Gladys Warren
and Ruby Chambers Warren. He was a retired Carroll Co.
Firefighter having served from 1976 until 1990, and was
a member of Ephesus Christian Church. Besides his
parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother,
Bessie R. Della Warren; and two brothers, Verlin Alton
Warren and Travis Warren. Survivors: brothers and
