Russell Delano Smith

ALBANY – Mr. Russell Delano Smith, 75, of Houston, TX and Rochester Hills, MI, 
passed away Monday, July 3, 2006, at William Beaumont Hospital Hospice in
Troy, MI
   Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 2 PM at the 
Stratford-Smith family plot, Oakview Cemetery, Camilla, GA with the Rev. Dr. 
James Bullion, Rector of 
St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church officiating.
   Mr. Smith was born January 9, 1931, to the late Toy R. and Gertrude Prosser 
Smith in
Waycross, GA. He graduated from Albany High School, Albany, GA and was a 
former member of Porterfield United Methodist Church. He was an Army Veteran 
of the Korean 
Conflict and retired from BellSouth, Atlanta, GA in 1986. He lived for many 
years in Bremen, GA and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of 
Bremen. He was
preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Alton Rogers and brother, Toy R. Smith, 
Jr.
   He is survived by his wife, Polly Stratford Smith; a daughter Melanie and 
Glenn Johnson of Rochester Hills, MI; a son Russell D. and Donna Smith of 
Houston, TX; 
three grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Alexander Johnson, Russell D. (Trey) 
Smith III. 
a sister Donnell Johnson of Columbus, GA; three brothers, W. Robert Smith of 
Vestavia Hills, AL, Walton Smith of Tifton, GA and Keith Alton of Greensboro, 
NC.
		Those desiring may make memorials to the Parkinson Disease 
Center and Movement Disorders Clinic, Baylor College of Medicine, 6550 Fannin, 
Tower Suite 1801, Houston, TX 77030.
