        Chrissetta Handson, 30, died Monday, July 9, 2001.
        A native of Barrow County, Mrs. Handson was a daughter of Jane
     and Joseph Hillman of Winder.
        Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall with Bro.
     Jim Mayweather officiating. The body will be placed in state at
     noon. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
        Survivors include her husband, Victor Handson; two children,
     Karis Chandler and Jamion Chandler, both of Winder; a sister,
     Arkisha Hillman, Winder; two brothers, Jameel Hillman and Keithon
     Hillman, both of Winder; grandparent, Louise Hillman, Winder.

        A native of Walton County, Mr. Huff was a son of the late James
     William Huff and Gladys Alice Cleaton Huff. He was a self employed
                                  painter.
        Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Smith Funeral Home. Burial
                     will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
        Survivors include a step mother, Vena Huff, Atlanta; a step son,
      Phillip Jones, Monroe; two brothers, Nelson Huff and Dennis Huff,

        Robert Eugene Duncan, 59, of 1401 Irvin Kirk Rd. died Wednesday,
                               July 11, 2001.
         A native of Oconee County, Mr. Duncan was a son of Mattie Bell
      Hackett Duncan and the late Homer Alford Duncan. He was a farmer
          with Vaughns Chicken Farm, and was of the Holiness Faith.
         Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home with
        the Rev. Mike Hudmon officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia
                          Holiness Church cemetery.
         Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Doris
     Evelyn Gaddis Duncan; a surrogate daughter, Evelyn Gossett, Neese;
     two sisters, Margaret Duncan and Magaleen Duncan, both of Alto; two
          brothers, Johnny Duncan, Levinton, Ky., and Chris Duncan,
      Gainesville; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces
                                and nephews.

          Cora B. Maxwell, 88, of 2353 Liberty Hill Road died Tuesday,
                               July 10, 2001.
        A native of Hart County, Mrs. Cora Maxwell was a daughter of the
     late Major and Susie Reid Banks, and was the widow of Will Maxwell.
      She was a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church where she was a
     member of the choir and Missionary Society. She was a member of the
             Naomia Court Lodge #624 and the Heroine of Jericho.
          Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Spring Baptist
       Church with the Rev. S.T. Grimes officiating. The body will be
         placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in the church
                                  cemetery.
           Survivors include two daughters, Alice Mitchell and Susie
      Robinson, both of Hartwell; three sons, Cleveland Robinson, Jr.,
     Hartwell, Eddie Robinson and Leo Robinson, both of Ft. Lauderdale;
     two sisters, Lucy Jeter and Tommie McWhorter, both of Hartwell; 41
               grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; and 31
                         great-great-grandchildren.
         The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at Mack's

         Survivors include two sisters, Susan Smith, Athens, and Alice
      Young, Casselberry, Fla.; two brothers, Edward Smith, Rayle, and
              Harold Smith, Orlando, Fla.; nieces and nephews.

        A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Wallace was a daughter of the
     late Obie Starrett and Minnie Louise Carroll Starrett, and a widow
      of Noble D. Wallace. She was a homemaker and a member of Elberton
                              Christian Church.
         Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Berry Funeral Home
     with the Rev. Bill Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill
                               Memorial Park.
        Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane Gordon, Madison, and
     Debra Picard, Hartwell; a son, Ricky Wallace, Elberton; a brother,
      Lloyd Starrett, Hartwell; 13 half-brothers and sisters; and three
                               grandchildren.
        Pallbearers will be Sanford Cole, Ed Cole, Tommy Starrett, Kevin
                  Starrett, Jimmy Brown, and Craig Rickman.

       late Frank Bolton and Texas Embry Bolton. She was a graduate of
     Roebuck High School and worked at Piccadilly Cafeteria for over 15
        years. She was a former member of Mount Calvary Presbyterian
                                   Church.
         Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Lanford-Pollard Funeral
       Home with Dr. B.E. Pettit officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m.
                  Saturday at Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
        Survivors include three daughters, Sheila P. Marshall, Chesnee,
       S.C., Sandra P. Sprouse, Spartanburg, S.C., and Susan P. Hodge,
            Prague, Czechoslovkia; four sons, Roy E. Pettit, Jr.,
      Winston-Salem, N.C., Gerald L. Pettit, Spartanburg, S.C., Michael
       B. Pettit, Mayo, S.C., and David B. Pettit, Wellford, S.C.; two
     brothers, Mack Bolton and Donald Bolton, both of Spartanburg, S.C.;
     father of her children, Roy Edward Pettit, Sr.; six grandchildren;

                 Fred Denton, 85, died Thursday, July 12, 2001.
           A native of Banks County, Mr. Denton was a son of the late
     Robert 'Bob' and Nettie Jane Whitfield Denton, and was a widower of
     Mary Alice Lewallen Denton. He was preceded in death by a son, Fred
       Denton, Jr., and a daughter, Rachel Denton. He was retired from
       Ethicon, Inc. with 25 years of service and was a member of Line
                  Baptist Church where he served as deacon.
        Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Line Baptist Church with
      the Revs. Kenneth McEntire and Garry Garrison officiating. Burial
                     will follow in the church cemetery.
          Survivors include six daughters, Jewel Poole and Teresa Way,
       both of Baldwin, Mary Ann Roberts, Gillsville, Berta Clark, Mt.
      Airy, Claudette Denton, Alto, Melinda Conley, Gainesville; three
     sisters, Laurene Huckaby, Gainesville, Ora Bell Hopper, Gillsville,
            Bobbie Wilkins, Hoschton; a brother, David Denton; 13
                grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1
                           great-great-grandchild.

            Lathon Edward Cunningham, 36, formerly of Statham, died

        A native of Fulton County, Mr. Cunningham was a son of the late
     Lucious Edward and Mary Ann Gunter Cunningham. He made his home in
     Summitville, Tenn., for the last seven years. He was a mechanic and
            a carpenter and was a member of Winder Church of God.
         Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home with
                       the Rev. Tom Lang officiating.
          Survivors include three aunts, Barbara Joyce Flanigan, Hull,
       Robbie Nash, Hoschton, and Virginia Cooper, Statham; an uncle,
                   Charles Gunter, Hapeville; and cousins.
        The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral
                                    home.

         Home with the Rev. James Denton and Pastor Mary Lane Brooks
             officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
        Survivors include her husband, Henry C. Owens; three daughters,
     Janie O. Williams, Cleveland, Jannice O. Bass, Winder, and Terri O.
      Huth, Clarksville, Tenn.; a son, Thomas Henry Owens, Winder; four
          sisters, Agnes F. Owens and Caroline F. Sinyard, both of
     Hawkinsville, Geraldine F. Darby, Chester, S.C., Elaine F. Mullis,
       Eastman; two brothers, Bobby Boss, Eastman, and Ronald Fordham,
        Chester, S.C.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
                             nieces and nephews.
          Pallbearers will be Scott Williams, Randy Huth, Kevin Bass,
         Shawn O'Connor, Jason Sims, Rick Dorsey, and Joey Sullins.

       Preller. She was a homemaker and a member of the University of
                         Georgia's President's Club.
         Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and F. Clay
     Bush, Atlanta; a daughter, Laura Preller, Albany; sisters, Frances
     Casamassina, Sound Beach, NY, and Bernadette Plaskon, Milford, CN;
            and grandsons, John Clay Bush and Henry Hickman Bush.
            Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at
         Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Joy Nellissery
                                officiating.
        The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 at Bernstein
      Funeral Home prior to the graveside services. In lieu of flowers
          memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
       Association, 1353 Jennings Mill Road, Ste A, Bogart, GA 30622.
